Just got back yesterday from a wk at the HRH...
It was great!!!! had room 6084 ,Great view, close to elevator ,pool, sunset grill, ice machine.
5 minute walk to universal.. ( go through the pool area to get to universal)...
90 degree weather all wk...sunshined all wk ,,no rain!
ate at sweet tomatoes, boston lobster feast, sizzler, beach club at hrh....
front of line is awsome!!!!! would not go with out it!!!
daughter loved the pool and slide that was her favorite thing about the whole vacation!!!! no matter what we did ,,she just wanted to be at the pool....
any questions????? ask away....

We are staying for one night June 26( after 5 days at WDW) and its our first time at this hotel. I have severe dog, cat allergies and DS has astha. I hear that it is a pet friendly hotel. should I call in advance to request a non-pet area. Are there designated room that can have pets? Just wondering if you know anything. Thanks
Connears

I never saw any pets there at all,,,,,,except for the little salamanders that run around....
i never saw one dog or cat the whole wk...
hope that helps....

can the kids wear a life vest on the slide?

Under a certain height kids are REQUIRED to wear a vest. There were 3 different sizes at the top of the slide.

Can you give me an idea of how parking works at HRH? We will be staying there for 5 days of a two week vacation and with our family of 4 we have lots of stuff to cart from the car, including our plug in cooler which I really would not want to be without. I know they have bellhops, but we are sort of do-it-yourself types (and besides, I'd be a bit embarrassed to have them lug the cooler, snacks, etc.).

Do you have any idea what the height restriction on the hotel pool's silde is before the kids don't have to wear a lifevest? My independent, but short, 7 year old will be extremely disappointed if he has to wear one.

Yes, I definitely would call. When we stayed at the WL over Thanksgiving there was a woman who had her service dog with her. Even if it is not a "pet friendly" hotel there is the chance that a service dog was on property.

When I checked in, the valets took all my bags in, including my bag of snacks and cooler. They were more than happy to take them in, and offered to. I did not ask. Of course, you must tip them per item, so it's up to you.

There is parking to the left and to the right of the hotel as you go in. I only saw a couple of doors on the left side, but had to take the stairs if parked on the right side, there is a long flight of steps that come up from each side to the front doors at lobby level (3rd floor). I think you have to take the stairs if parked on the right side, but we tried to park on the left side and take the door that goes in by camp lil rock. Anyhow, it could potentially be a long haul to your room, and you may have to take a flight of steps that goes up two flights. It was worth it to me to pay the guys to take them to the room. Course at a $1 a bag, you have to tip the guy who unloads the car, and also the guy who takes it to the room.

Not sure of the height requirement for the slide, but generally it seemed to be kids under 5. But that was just an observation.

There is a life guard at the top of the slide who makes sure that little ones are wearing life vests.

If you really want to bring your stuff into your room yourself have somebody check in while everyone waits in the car in the drive through circle area. Once you have your room key just lug it all up. Nobody really cares. They would like your tip but you are definately allowed to do it yourself.

Hi..

Also regarding the HRH slide... can you wait nearby at the bottom of the slide for your child to come out?

>>^..^<<

Connears all lowes hotels are pet friendly. I would suggest you call the hotel your staying at and let guest services be aware of your needs i'm sure they'll be great to you. I have stayed many times at these hotels and i have NEVER saw the first clue that a pet had been in a room or suite. I would'nt hesititate to call them.

Winnie- If i can pull up to the PBH hotel with a huge van with grocery's in the back a HUGE cooler and 8 or more bags of luggage don't be ashamed. Your on vacation be yourself be comfortable and don't worry. The bellman are wonderful! They even put the grocery's in the cabinets for me and had room service bring me plates, forks, spoons, bowls ect... They are just wonderful about making your stay comfy. I have triplets so we have to lug around quite a bit when we go off. Hopefully that will taper back some as they are about to turn 3 in June.LOL Have a wonderful vacation and bring that cooler with you.

I'm debating whether to pay the extra for club level or just do breakfast in one of the restaurants each morning. Can you give me a feel for what's on site and how expensive/convenient it is? We'd want to do something relatively simple but more than just a bagel on the run.

THE SUNSET GRILL IS VERY CONVENIENT...a little expensive for breakfast though, i think around 12.00 a person, we didnt really eat breakfast,, had a granola bar or a rice krispie treat.
the icecream place also sells muffins , donuts, little packs of cereal & milk. we paid 129.0 a night for pool view . i dont know how much club level is....check it out...

LISALISA36 - We just got back too! I think we were there the same week as you (May 4-10). We were in room 6068, probably just down the hall from you!! Maybe we passed in the elevators at some point and didn't even know it. Bummer! I'm glad you had a great time - we did too! I'm really depressed being back home in the rain and 50 degree weather :( Yuck :( I want to be back at the HRH enjoying the 90 degree sunshine again!!!

We left to come home on the 6th. Did anyone poop in the pool when you guys were there. It was closed twice for us. Why don't people put the proper swimwear on their kids. They even give them away for free at the towel counter.
