Hello again and you fellow disney aholics!!
i havent been around, not having a disney trip planned, i find it a bit depressing listening to you all - but i have a major story to tell so bear with me!
middle of may this year i collapsed in agony in front of my ds 9 football presentation(dh runs the team so was slightly embassaing!) after a few weeks of test i was diagnosed with gall stones (actually more acurately 1 massive 34mm stone!) i collapsed again last wend when dh was in DLP without me :confused3, and was rushed in with a major infection. the stone must come out now ( i am delebertely skipping the days and nights of agony i have spent in the last 2 months) and is coming out next tuesday, 2 days before we were due to fly on our 5 star AI holiday to Eygpt. guess who is not going? it seems there is no way of getting our money back (i ve tried everyone) so dh is going with my 3 and BF and her son! great huh??
i am gutted - i have spent 12 months researching and looking forward to this, and it has been snatched away from me:eek:.
but out of all things bad comes something good, dh and kids to make me happy have agreed to wdw next year:wizard::wizard::wizard:
so after doing some dis sneaking i have found the massive reductions on the wdw site at the mo and we were debating between the cabins and a 2 bed appt at SS - but looking at the pictures SS wins, hands down, and with free DDP!
im so excited!!!
we are thinking about a week after the 2 weeks at SS to go to US - maybe a short onsite stay at HRH like 2 years ago (most amazing hotel ever IMHO!)
so just had to share my news with you all, have anotther 12 months to wait, and of course major surgery to get through, but mickey and the gang will take me to my happy place, and some fairy dust will get me thorugh the op (which i hope will be keyhole) next tuesday!!
think happy thoughts!
so what have i missed - whats the goss?? what are the new must dos - that dessert party looks very good, trust me to think straight of food;):lmao::lmao:

Sorry to hear you have been so ill but surely your travel insurance would of covered the cancellation for all of you?

Claire ;)

Hope your op goes OK, at least you have thoughts of Florida to help you through now!!

no, apparently not, pre existing medical condition... undeclared (only cause i didnt know about it!)
credit card company can help and put in a claim, ahich we are unsure of winning, cant afoord to take the chance! i ve learnt a hard lesson about travel insurance (get a better one!) and nearly dying puts things in perpesctive - its only 2 weeks and ill be better when they get back... i have an amazing holdiay to plan, and loads of evening on the dis to catch up with!
planning for me is half the fun, having an autistic son we have to plan hard.
last year we were there at the same time as TS Faye, so next year it will be lazy days at water parks and quality (not rushing). we have all decided to smell the roses more, my eldest has been shocked to the bone, he saw me collapse, the two younger ones 9 and 6, have been sheltered but having a sick parent has scared them...
big picture, little picture, im looking forward to the big picture.

ps due to this i have stopped smoking so am going to save my ciggarette money and pay for dh and i to go to VA - we couldnt afford it last time:lovestruc

Pre-exisiting is only when you know about it. I was taken ill the day before we were due to fly to Florida last December with kidney stones and the insurance paid out as before the day I had the problem I didn't know about it! So you are saying the insurance are refusing to pay for an illness that occured after buying the insurance and you did not know about it when you took the insurance out? I would seriously consider taking this up with the regulator as that is the whole point of insurance to cover the unexpected/unknown.

I hope you are soon better and nothing like planning a trip to WDW to help with the recovery :teeth:

Claire ;)

Sorry to hear about your painful gall stones :scared1:
Hope the op goes well and you'll soon be on the road to recovery. I can think of no better cure than beginning to plan your next WDW trip! :thumbsup2

Hope your op goes well and you soon recover  and happy planning for next year. :wizard:

How awful. My BIL had the op last November and he felt sooooo much better afterwards. He had no idea he'd been suffering for years with gall stones but every time he ate he felt ill. Now he's a new man!

So sorry to hear about you not being able to go on the holiday. I hope you have somebody to "take care" of you while they're away and you're going through your surgery.

Sending you lots of

Happy planning for next year - sounds like a great trip.

Welcome back and I hope everything goes OK with your op :)

Its great that you have a WDW trip to look forward to :yay:

Just a point on the insurance and hopefully someone will be able to clarify it.
For me I always have a yearly travel insurance but most people buy their insurance for the trip ie:1st to 14th April, so if you fall ill in February and try to cancel your holiday in effect your insurance is not in use yet, as it is not starting until the 1st April.
If this is the case it is perhaps something for people to consider.

If you buy single trip cover rather than an annual policy it covers you in the same way, not just for the period you are away but any claim required between buying the cover and returning from holiday. Only difference is you are only covered for that 1 trip, Annual policy will cover you for mulitple trips.
