I'm back and we've got a house!!!

Just returned from 8 days of pure magic. Never in my wildest imagination did I dream things would go as incredibly well as they did. I kept thinking that it was just a dream and I'd wake up to find I haven't even left for Florida yet!

We bought a house in a town called Auburndale. Depending on how you travel there, it's anywhere from 30 to 50 minutes from WDW. I've never been fond of big highways so I tried everything from I-4 to back roads.

I wrote a trip report that equals the size of War and Peace. Hopefully it will help anyone out there who is thinking of doing what we did this past week.

I'll try to start posting the trip report in the next several days but just wanted to check in and say hi. With any luck, we'll be Florida residents in the next 3 to 4 weeks!

Congrats! Now don't forget to see if you can get your mortgage company to pay for the transfer tax and the title insurance. Play one mortgage company off another if you have to. I want someone to learn from my (expensive) mistake

Congrats. I don't know about paying transfer taxes - the buyer paid ours - but don't forget to file for your homeowners' exemption. You are very near me - we're in Winter Haven. Auburndale has a barbecue place called Jimbos which is supposed to be very good and you are not far from Lakeland which has almost everything.
