I'm back and truly amazed...

...because HALF of the flowers for my Dad's funeral were from the DIS!

Everything went so beautifully. Again my family asked "Do you WORK for Disney?" The displays of flowers were so breathtaking, mostly because they came from people who CARED.

I will never forget this.

Today I'm home with a sick child, MEASLES, which is good because he NEEDS to stay home. He didn't want to miss school even though he lost his Granddad, because he knew his Granddad wanted him to get good grades.

On Saturday, the day of the wake, I broke down. I didn't want to go, I didn't want to see him, I just couldn't do it.

My son, 10 years old, hugged me and told me "Mom, you can be PITIFUL or POWERFUL, but you can't be both"...

I chose to be powerful.

I cannot thank all of you enough for getting me through this. The flowers, the PMs, the emails, the posts, the calls, the cards, the total wonderfulness that is the DIS... I wish I could just HUG you all.

My Mom and Dad are together again. And after 61 years of wedded bliss, that is RIGHT.

Robin, I've always wanted to tell you how in awe I am of your family, of your closeness and the love that you all have for one another and share with one another. I've read your different posts about your parents and your family and I've always thought that your family was so strong and could withstand anything because of the support and love you show one another. The world would be a much better place if everyone had such a strong, supportive family to depend on.

Your parents sound like such good, down to earth people, caring and compassionate, and they've passed their strength and compassion down to you. And I can tell through your posts that you're passing that strength and compassion down to Michael. This is your parents' legacy and a part of them that will never be gone from you.

I know how much it hurts right now, but I also know that as the pain eases, all the good memories will shine through and your parents will live on in your heart and in Michael's heart, and their goodness will be passed down through the generations to come.
