Hey everyone!!! I'm back after being gone for 4 days. I have missed you all so much!! I see big changes have happened over here on the WISH board! May I congratulate everyone! It's so exciting to have our own place isn't it???
Well, I must say that being away from the Wish Board was worse then going through the induction phase of ATkins!!
It's true. I went through withdrawal and found myself missing so many of you that have become my friends. There's just No PLace Like Home!!
I wanted to tell you my experience over the weekend. As you know my 21 year old son came home from Japan after 2 years of being there. HE IS SO HANDSOME... and has grown into a fine young man. He is a pleasure to be around and has matured and learned to express himself so beautifully! (just a side note... anyone out there have a beautiful 20ish daughter ???? I'm telling you, this boy is a real catch, if I Must say so myself!!!!
)
Now, where were we??? Oh- To make a very long story short-( my trials and misadventures were posted when they were in the process of happening) I fell off the ATKINS wagon. Thursday- Sat. By the time Saturday night rolled around and my blood sugar had gone from being even to 295 I decided I could no longer be a bum and jumped back on the band wagon. Today is day 3 of induction- and I am feeling so much better. I'm actually glad I went through all these experiences. It has taught me a couple of things.
First, that I really need to be here on these boards. Getting a daily, sometimes almost hourly, dose of other people going through the same triumphs and trials is extrememly beneficial for me. You all have truely become my friends, people that I look to for encouragemnet and support. Thank you all for being here when I've needed you. I hope that I have helped others in return.
Second, that eating low carb is something that makes me feel much healthier and better about myself. Even if I'm not losing weight- which in the past has been a snag for me, I still feel better and my Blood sugar is controlled. I'd forgotten the light headed feelings and bloating that come along with high carb eating. My energy levels dropped very quickly and my need for stuffing something in my mouth that was high in sugar was incessant! It's wonderful to feel control over what you put in your mouth and that is what happens when I do low carb!
and Third- that no matter what kind of failure you have, you can always turn it into a success! That you can learn from your failures and make things better for yourself.
I must say though that the last observation wouldn't have been the typical me- I owe a lot to those of you here that have set the example of try try again!
Well, like I said it's good to be home! Looking forward to everyones new threads and life's adventures!!!
