It is a very sad day. I have to get back to normal, but at least I can share my fantastic dining experiences with everyone.

Alfredo's - 02/16/2004

This was my first time ever dining here. My mother and I dined here for lunch. I did not make a PS until the morning of 02/16 and I got a 12:00pm seating. We arrived at 11:55am and the lobby was loaded. The waitors were already calling off names when we were waiting in the twenty person line (it probably was'nt twenty people, but I'm sure you know what I mean). Anyways, the first thing that I noticed was the attitudes of the CM's. They seemed a little bit "rude," but nothing worth complaining about.

Our waitress called our names about five minutes after we checked-in. She was very nice and pleasant. By the time we ordered our drinks the place was packed. Also has anyone else ever been tricked into getting the bottled water with drinks (it may be a italian thing) she aasked what we wanted to dricnk and we told her. Then she asked us if we wanted water, we said yes. She brought us out a bottle of water and we were charged $5.15. Which I did not really care, it is just she did not tell us it was bottled.

I had the Lasagna_and my mother had the Fettuccine Alfredo. Mine was a perfect amount for lunch and was very good. My mother's also enjoyed her Alfredo. We were both pretty full, but I had to get the Dessert Sampler with small portions of many of the dessert items.

I would come back here for lunch in a second and would give this meal a nine out of ten. The inside of this place is very nice, I was surprised by the "pasta room."

Heres the Damage:

Fettuccine Alfredo - 14.95
Lasagnette - 14.95
Acqua Naturale - 5.15
Ice Tea - 2.00
Soft Drink - 2.00
Dessert Sampler - 9.50

SUBTOTAL - 48.55
10% Passholder - 4.86-
TAX - 2.54

TOTAL 46.23

Any Questions?

No questions... You just made me really hungry for Italian.:D

Glad you enjoyed your meal, we have not had lunch there in a couple of years, maybe we will give it another try in May.

Thanks for the review, we're planning on eating at the Alfredo's for the first time in May. I'm excited to try it. :D

I do have one question, and I hope it makes sense, but how "Italian" is the food there? Is it authentic Italian that may taste different for those used to American cuisine? Or is the food similar to like Olive Garden or Carrabba's?

TIA!!

This will probaly lead into a what is authentic Italian food (I guess you would have to go to Italy). But, I would not really say this is straight out of the bottle sauce or out of the box pasta. I would say it is proably as authentic as you could get in WDW. I really have not had Lasagna that tasted this good, probably because it was'nt "ragu" or "prego." But, I would not compare it to the Olive Garden. I like the Olive garden and this is a million times better. Hope this helps.

Thanks, that helps a lot! :D I love Italian food, but I've never been to Italy, I don't have an Italian heritage, so I have never had "true" Italian food. Just wanted to make sure that what I consider to be Italian (Olive Garden, etc) is somewhat similar to Disney's version of real, authentic Italian food.

Thanks again!

One of my favorite spots!

I always get the fettucini because I absolutely love it, but last time there I got the sampler platter, and have to agree the lasagna is also wonderful!

Jordan's mom

I wish I knew all of the names. But, the only thing I remember for sure was a small cannoli. Then there was a cake type item and about four other things. Sorry I am blanking out. They were very good.

Hi MikeWazowski,
By the way we are neighbors, but I think Syracuse is winning the snow derby this year.
We are going to WDW in June. This is our sixth trip, but first time getting annual passes. Are there discounts at all the WS restaurants or just certain ones? Thanks.

We eat here every time we do to WDW. It's one of my family's favorite places. We've gotten the dessert sampler also and I remember it having tiramisu, a cream puff, chocolate moose and a cannoli.

We also asked for water once and they brought us out the bottled water without telling us it was bottled. We just wanted a glass of ice water along with our soft drinks, so they took it back and brought us a glass.

I did notice that one time a couple of years ago our waitress seemed to have an "attitude". It was my daugther's birthday and she never acknowledged it once. They usually do something, but I guess she didn't want to be bothered. I didn't expect anything free as we ordered desserts, but I felt bad for her that they didn't even say Happy Birthday. It was on the slip that they give the waitress when they seat you, so I know that she knew about it. Maybe she didn't like the fact that my DD and I split the Fettucine Alfredo. She kind of made a face when we said we would like to split a meal. The portions are just too much for us to eat, so sometimes we'll order salads and split an entree as I hate to waste all that food.

On the other hand, I can think of another time when we went there and our waiter went out of his way to give us great service. I guess it just depends on the waiter.

I'm pretty sure every World Showcase Sit-Down Restaurant (From Mexico to Canada) during the week for lunch offers 10% off. I lost the little discount book they give you when I purchased the AP, but mousesavers.com has a list. We went to the San Angel Inn, Chefs De France, and Alfredos (I will be posting the other two reviews soon) and all three gave us 10% off for our lunch.

Thanks for the review - you've made up my mind for me. We'll definitly give it a try in May.

Thanks for the positive review Mike. It's our favorite WD restaurant. BTW, isn't the lasagne made with veal? It's very rich and delicious.

I'm glad y'all enjoyed your meals at Alfredo's. I, for one, can't stand the place. Maybe because we have a few good Italian restaurants here at home. Well, they are pizzerias more than full-fledged restaurants, but the food is maybe 100 billion times better (no exageration) than the "food" served at Alfredo's.

Come to think of it, I would rather die of starvation than eat Alfredo's "food". I'm not kidding. IMHO, life is not worth living if anything produced by Alfredo's kitchen comes anywhere near your taste buds.

And another thing.........

No, the mob does'nt run Alfredo's, someone much worst, WDW. I never am to surprised by the prices in WDW, they got you where they want you and they can make you pay.

Like all restaurants they all can have good and bad days. There are to many factors that determine your meal (cost, service, the cook, blah, blah, blah). You may pay five bucks for a bottle of water, but were not talking about any ordinary water, were talking about Acqua Naturale (LOL, only the best water in the world)

Actually I believe Alfredo's is one of the few restaurants on WDW property that is NOT Disney owned. I think it shows too. We had the least "Disney-esque" service there last week. As far as the water issue we turned it down since I had read about it on these boards. At least for us it wasn't as much the $$$'s that would have bothered us, (since we spent so much there and had known we'd need a big food budget) it was more the principle of the thing.
