I'm an idiot---Magical Express question

Several months ago, I booked a reservation at SSR for our upcoming trip by renting DVC points from someone. I received my magical express tickets & luggage tags in the mail. I then heard back from the person who booked for us; he had mistakenly used the wrong type of DVC points to book the room & asked if he could re-book the room under his other type of points. This was all no problem--everything went through and we still have a room at SSR.
My problem is that I then got another mailing containing the new ME tickets & bag tags, that had our new confirmation number on them. Now here is where the "I am an idiot" part comes in: I lost the second mailing somehow! I only have the original ME tickets & bag tags with our original confirmation number on them. My question, which I'm pretty sure I know the answer to already, is: can I use the "old" bag tags on my bags? I could probably still use the ME passes either way, because I have been able to get on ME in the past even if I forget to bring all my paperwork with me. But I'm worried my bags won't get to my room if they don't have the right confirmation # on them. 1 more question: can I write in the new confirmation number on the bag tags?? (I have a feeling I'm just going to be picking up my own bags here, but just wanted to check :) )
P.s. edited to add: the dates, resort, everything is the same for confirmation #1 & #2. Just used different type of DVC points to book it.
 
When we changed our reservation from a room only to a package, our yellow luggage tags had the original reservation number on it, not the new reservation number. The CM said that she noted that in their system so that I was able to use the luggage tags with the old reservation number on it. Our bags got to the room just fine. You should call the ME phone number and explain the situation. I don't know if things are different for the DVC. We booked a normal WL room. :)
 
I agree with the above poster. If you have enough time call DME directly and tell them you replaced the packet. They will send you another one. I had this happen to me in dec. got a new set within a week of calling. Good luck!!
 

You can also, check in at the ME counter, have them scan your luggage tag from the airline and they will still pick up your luggage for you.

This is what we did when our ME stuff never showed up.
 
I agree with PP in saying you should call DME if you've got the time for them to mail new tags. They're great to work with and very flexible. At my own fault, we didn't have DME set up for our departure day so I called a couple hours before we needed to leave and they completely took care of us!

Also, you can just grab your luggage and bring it yourself if you're concerned about it being routed to the wrong place.
 
if we rent points can we call and make changes or does the person who owns the pointss make the call
