I'm Already Waitlisted!!!!

I put in for Dec 27 to Jan. 2 and I'm already on a waitlist. They had nothing, not even a studio!!!!! I'm so frustrated.

And, yes, I know people go day by day and all that jazz, but come on, it's like one week after they could've been made, practically.

OK, so here it is: what are my chances at getting a reservation if I'm on a waitlist right now, and when/if I get one, when do you think I will?

What did you waitlist for? You are probably going to get most anything that you waitlist for this early in the game. But you may have a more difficult time at BCV or WLV, just because they are the smallest.

As the OP has BCV in their banner, and we are in the 11 month window, I am assuming the OP only tried BCV, as they'd be unable to book other resorts.

I think your waitlist will come through. I've got a feeling that a good % of people go ahead and reserve right when the window opens - before they are 100% sure they want to travel over the holidays just because they want the option to be open.

I answered your other post. Many made reservations for NYE week at 11 month window and some day-by-day. We called last week at exactly 11 months for our 12/28/08-1/02/09 at OKW. I am assuming BCV would be more difficult because it is smaller than OKW. xmas week(including NYE) is very popular time..we have gone for the past 3 years and are returning this year. I now plan my xmas week at 11 months just to be safe. You might try SSR or OKW at 7 months (if BCV is your home resort)if you really wanted to be there..they are the likely one to have availability.

NYE is probably the most popular night of the year for BWV and BCV. You have to be right on top of it at 11 months.

Yeah, as several of you have guessed, we're at BCV. I asked about OKW and SSR and they're wide open and I begged to get there and they politely said no, of course. hahaha

I'm keeping my fingers crossed, but I HATE uncertainty. I'm like the queen of the land that hates uncertainty.

As for going for a few dates, I asked the MS person about it, and they said don't do that b/c I'm on a waitlist for a 2 bedroom and there are 3 types and if I lock in on, for instance, type A 2bd and I am on a waitlist for 2 days for the other types, I'd be limited myself to only one type of 2 bedroom. I know that's confusing but you fellow DVCers I'm sure understand.

FINGERS CROSSED!!! My other option is doing a point switch with family for SSR points, so I'll keep you posted on that development.
