Reservations at POR 12/4-12/14. Now I find out that the Pop Warner kids will be there, as well as, at one of the value resorts. I've made 7 phone calls. No one at Disney knows if they teens will be in Alligator Bayou or Mansions. They believe they will all be in the same building, but no way of knowing what building that will be. Even if they put us really far away from where the teens are, that doesn't mean they won' t be walking around at night, being noisy like teens can be. Do they have any sort of curfew? Is this going to make grabbing milk for the boys at the food court a nightmare? Should I switch resorts now, while I can still get a few days using Best Rate? We chose this resort because it looked so serene. Having thousands of teenagers around doesn't seem to fall into that category. Please advise!

If it was me, I would change my reservation to a mod or deluxe immediately. No way I would stay in the same resort with a large group coming in. I don't care who they are. Kids will be kids. The noise will keep you up at night, the food court will be a mess and your vacation for all general reasons will probably be ruined. My advise, change to a different hotel. :goodvibes

I would change too, as fast as I could, LOL. 100's of cheering girls sounds like fun, but not if your looking for some peaceful relaxation, LOL.

just curious as I am going in February...are the cheerleaders there the whole week or just for the weekends, etc. If they are there for the week schools actually let the kids out for this? just curious...

I checked it out but it doesn't provide any information on which resorts they are staying. I told dh last night about it and he was a little worried. We decided if we are located next to a loud group we'll ask to be moved. We're not using the bus system so no concerns there. We're just worried about being located next to a college dorm :rotfl: We have a little one so we all need our sleep and we go to sleep early (by 10pm).

You are going to run into groups everywhere. Yes, they will mostly be at the values, but last year there were groups at almost all of the resorts. Don't forget all the groups that will be there for the taping of the Christmas Parade on 12/3 and 12/4! We're talking marching bands, tv stars with security everywhere, not to mention the "extras" they bring.

No matter how you look at it, if you go expecting the worst, the worst is what you'll see. If you go in knowing that there will be groups there, they will not ruin your vacation and if something happens to you personally or your family you should report it to the management. Honestly, if they are keeping us up past midnight or running around knocking on doors, I will complain. But kids will be kids and you can usually take care of rude behavior by saying something to their chaparones.

Oh, and good luck finding another resort if you do want to switch!! They are really full!!

Change resorts asap! I stayed at CBR and they were all there last year and it was a nightmare! Too noisy, food court was a disaster and they seemed to need more parental chaparones to manage them all.

We have been at all teh value resorts and mods and deluxes and they have been at all of them and as I said earlier it is generally not the kids that are the issue it is the parents when they get drinking at night sitting around the pool. The kids are generally very well behaved it is the parents that needed a lesson in self control and that was only 1 time in all the years we have been since 96. I hate to say it but for those that can't handle a few undred or so extra guests wether they be cheerleaders or whatever then maybe Disney just isn't the place to go for your holidays.

Sorry to hijack, but what about checking out of POR on the 4th? Do the groups ever arrive early, or only all together? Will check out be a nightmare if we are checking out the morning of the 4th?

Thanks

Shouldn't be a huge issue. When we were at POR in June, we checked out on 6/26...the same day all the Pampered Chef people did!!! It was crazy...people everywhere. The only issue you might have is if you are going to use DMe to return to the airport. With check-out at 11 or so, a lot of people seemed to have mid-afternoon flights, so were trying to get DME bus around 11ish. I believe they had to have two buses to get everyone from POR to the airport for the 11:30 time slot!!! But that was the only issue. Of course, we do express check-out, so don't have to deal with the front desk on check-out day.
