I hate, HATE rides with big drops.. ie Splash Mountain. My kids of course LOVE roller coasters, which rides at Universal & IA should I avoid? :scared: Clearly Duelling Dragon and Hulk and Rip Rocket... what about Spiderman, Jimmy Neutron, Simpsons.. etc? I have never been to Universal and IA so any drop advice will help! Thanks

You'll definitely want to avoid Dudley Do-Right's Ripsaw Falls and Jurassic Park River Adventure.

The drop in Spider-Man is completely simulated, meaning the screen makes you feel like you're dropping but the vehicle is hardly moving.

Spiderman, the Simpsons and Jimmy Neutron are simulators. If you don't like drops just close your eyes. If you are super queasy in Jimmy Neutron you can sit in the first row, which is stationary.

I have a problem with drops so I avoid the roller coasters. I am not scared just that it bothers my chest and that scares me. I love Spiderman and at Disney Star Tours and can do Dinosaur at AK. I would like to try the Mummy but that says roller coaster, what kind of drops does it have?

I'll admit it, I'm a wimp aswell. I never used to be though! I've gone on the Hulk, Dueling Dragons, all of it. Now I take one look at it and start sweating! Haha! This past trip, I waited in line with my mom to ride the Hulk, but as soon as I got up to the boarding dock, I could feel my stomach churning! Needless to say, I skipped across and waited for her down in the lobby. I know I wouldn't have a problem with them, I just trick myself into thinking I will. My mission, ride them again before I'm an adult! If I dont, I never will...

Is it fear or motion sickness from the drops? If its motion then the simulators might get to you too. If its fear then I say you could handle more than you think. I really didnt feel any drops on the Hulk, felt more like being sucked into the seat...

I don't do rides with drops like Splash Mountain. I can do Space Mountain, BTMRR, and POTC.

I have done Spiderman--total simulation, so no tummy drop feeling, like Star Tours.

Simpsons--same type deal

Mummy--Very short roller coaster part included in the ride. It is dark and the drops are similar to Space Mountain, maybe 3-4 smallish drops.

MIB--only thing other than shooting at aliens is some spinning.

Avoid RRR, Ripsaw Falls and Jurassic Park, as well as DD. Forbidden Journey is a simulator and is not any worse than Star Tours.

Hiya,

I'd avoid the Jurassic park one - if you have to - but WOW what a drop - felt amazing. Oh, and Jimmy Neutron is fine - but any ladies who are "amply endowed" NEED a sports bra!!!!!

You asked for advice, so here is mine. Go on the "scariest" drop for you, three times in a row. Then go start having fun without all the anxiety! It has worked for all my kids, but usually it only takes twice in a row. ;)

I know this is over a year after the thread was started , but I just searched for "drops" regarding Universal/Islands of Adventure and this wonderful thread came up! I cannot handle drops and I am so glad that there are people out there like me, and that other people gave such great advice and descriptions.

Thanks!
