I'm a little worried

I just need some prayers for my boyfriends mother. She is in Cancun right now with her work. I talked to her around 6pm and she was hysterically crying. I could barely understand her. She is so scared about Wilma, and doesn't know whats going to happen. At 8 pm (Cancun time) everyone in the hotel is going to the convention room to stay there. She is only a few miles off the coast, and is really worried. My DBF is extremely scared and worried, along with the rest of the family. I just hope she is okay..

We just heard from my sister (9 pm central time) who is down in Playa Del Carmen, near Cancun and they too were all in the convention center at their hotel to ride out the storm. She said they had plenty of food and water and were feeling well prepared. Apparently the convention center is made of concrete to withstand the hurricanes. She didn't seem too worried, although the storm isn't there yet. Prayers and PD to everyone stuck down there.

Just a question, couldn't she just come home, or are all flights cancelled already?

They were not able to get a flight out before being under the official evacuation order. Many other tourists are stuck at the airport with no flights out.

I'm praying for her, but I'm sure she'll be safe. The hotels always end up being fine. The investors don't want to have to rebuild after storms, so they build as well as they can.

Thanks for the prayers. I am sure she will be fine. She was just worried because she has never gone through anything like this, and is away from all of her family. She did mention they had plenty of water and etc. Also she did try to fly out, but the flights were already cancelled. Thanks again...
