I'm a Bit Confused

In an earlier post I was told that you don't have to name the people who are attending when you make an ADR. But in making a trial ADR, I did have to put names and ages in. I also had to designate one person to handle the reservations, and since I'm not going, but I'm making the plans, this was a problem.

Somewhat related, if I try to make a hard to get reservation when the 180 day mark comes around, will I have to type in 8 names before I can confirm the rez, and could the time involved there cause me lose it?

Yes - u have to put in the Nansen - they should already be in your mde acct to u can use the drop down menu to select them

I believe you only need to put names in when making a reservation that requires prepayment such as Cinderella's Royal Table. For a "regular" ADR, you'll see the same screen where you CAN select your dining party but the system doesn't force you to. You can just click next and move on. If making one of the prepaid reservations, I'd just ensure that you have everyone already linked as friends/family in My Disney Experience so that you can easily select them from the drop down menu... it shouldn't add too much time. Hope you're able to get everything you're hoping for!

I think it's different when you are using the app vs. the website. On the website it asks for names. On the app it doesn't. Make the reservations on the app.

I never put the names when making a reservation, website and app. The only time I’m required to is for a meal you have to prepay or Victoria and Albert’s. You only need one lead name on the reservation

You do not have to put names in on the website. I never do and I just made 6 reservations this morning. It provides a screen to put in the information but does NOT require that you put in the information. Just proceed past the screen.

Unless it's a pre-paid meal, like CRT, you do not have to enter names (except for the lead guest's name). When you get to the screen, simply select the person you want to be the lead guest and then click next. You can leave the other guests blank. If you are making a reservation for someone other than yourself, simply add the name of someone who is going on the trip as someone you will manage in Friends and Family and click on that name as the lead guest when you make the reservation. The reservation will then be made in that person's name, however, they will only be able to cancel or modify that reservation through your MDE account.

Again - you do not have to put names. I only do for a few ADRs - that require payment. It asks for names but you can leave them blank.

Thank you all. As you guessed, the reservations I was trying were indeed some of the prepaid ones, and I was using the website not the app. So great information and very helpful.
