I'm a BIG BRAVE boy I am!(UPDATED)

no problems at all really, about once during the month he uses a eye drop, but thats only if he's been somewhere dusty.

End of the month they come out as easy as anything

I have the monthly ones and I think they are brilliant. I do use comfort drops every morning cause my eyes are quite dry when I get up and sometimes I do have to take them out and give them a clean if I feel I've got something on the lens. Apart from that they're great. :thumbsup2

Well done Tony!!!:thumbsup2

I don't think i could do it though, think i'll just stick to my trusty specs;)

Well done Tony, I'm another one that just could not master putting contacts in.

Used to take me hours to get mine in - most of that time was looking for them on the floor after I dropped them LOL

Well done Tony. You'l have to consult your optician to see (sorry about the pun) which lenses are most suitable. I can only use gas permeables which have to be cleaned and soaked each night, I would love to be lazy and switch to disposables

well done Tony :thumbsup2
I have been wearing monthly disposables for 13 years now and will never go back to glasses. As someone has already said you will be able to put them in without a mirror later. It only takes a matter of seconds with practice to put them in.

Tony. My son has just got his first lot of contact lenses too !!

He needs his for his golf as its impossible playing golf with glasses - they get all steamed up. He got the monthly disposable ones - not sure of the price though. He was the same as you, it took a while to get them in at first, but now he's getting used to them and can do it really quickly.

Good luck with them !! (You might need them to find the beer at the GGG meet) :lmao:

Tony, you big girly!

All that fuss over contact lenses. I thought you were a big cowboy booting sort of guy? :rotfl2: :rotfl2:

I remember getting my first pair of lenses. They were hard lenses in those days. You had to put them in for half an hour, then take them out. Next day you added 15 minutes to the time, and so on. It felt like someone had chucked a load of gravel in your eyes.
That was in the days when lenses were lenses and men were men. :thumbsup2

Well Done, next you'll be able to cath your diapers without the help of the Misses! LOL Only joking Tony.

I think Contacts are so icky I wouldn't bother, so you are more braver than me. :thumbsup2

Well trust me to tempt fate.
Yesterday I put the right one in ( only the second attempt:thumbsup2 ) left one was not so easy and rested it for half an hour, then went in second tempt:thumbsup2 ) I had to take them out after 4 hour and thats when the problems began, no matter how hard I tried I couldn't move them and my eyes there getting very sore. i went to see my sister in law as she used to work in an Boots. She said she couldn't she them in there and i had to go to the A&E to get it checked out. well they said I had popped them out and had been rubbing my cornea and scratched it. I have now got eye drops for the next week and I've lost the contact lenses :sad1: NOT going so well then. Back to the glasses for the time being.:cool2:

eeeik my eyes are watering!

Hope you aren't in pain

don't give up :) I have been wearing lenses now for 20 years! best thing I ever did. ( think Mr Magoo  )

What type did you get? soft, hard, disposables ?

It does get easier once you get the hang of it. don't rub your eyes when they are in, if threy feel scratchy put some comfort drops in.

Good luck.:woohoo:

that sounds so sore Tony !! Hope it gets better in time. Personally I couldn't work with them at all. I hate the idea of touching my eyes - makes me go all funny !!

as Sue says Tony it does get easier! keep going and hopefully it'll get better.

Oh poor you don't give up Tony keep trying because i can asure you ,you won't want to go back to glasses when you get used to them!!!

I'll give it another go. Just got to rest the eyes for aweek.
There were the monthly disposables and I didn't find they itch at all once I got them in.
