Well I guess I have lurked and randomly posted enough!!! My name is Stacy and I am a huge Disney fan. I may not be having a Disney Wedding but I am having a DisneyMoon! hehehe This past Sunday I hit my 2 month mark for my wedding. I will be marring my now Fiancé and boyfriend of 4 1/2 years.

Background on myself and my FH!
I am originally from the East Coast, More importantly from Massachusetts! Go Sox!!! (Had to throw that in :rotfl: ) I was born and raised on the Southshore of MA and eventually ended up attending College in Boston. During the end of my Sophmore year I ended up meeting my FH. We met randomly as we were both out for a walk enjoying a nice fall day in Boston and just started talking. We exchanged phone numbers and talked every day! I thought it was all a little weird, but hey God gives you people when you need them and least expect it! He was from Iowa (Which at the time I had to look up on the Map where that was, I knew it was in the midwest but where I had no clue! :rotfl: ) On December 18th, 2001 we had our first date and it was great. We went to a great italian place by Faneuil Hall and then played UNO with my roommates and friends most of the night. We became really good friends and enjoyed hanging out. On Feb 4th he asked me to be his girl* (This will come to be important later). I said "Are you asking me to be your GF?" He said Yes I am! So of course I said yes. On July 4th 2002 I took my first trip to Iowa and met the whole family. Everyone was so caring and Nice and I had a blast in Iowa! From then on it was great, minus the long distance relationship for quite a while. We were able to work passed the 1400 mile seperation and grow to love each other very much.

The Engagement!
On April 30th of this year the FH asked me if I wanted to take a half day on the 4th of May and go to Minnesota to watch his favorite baseball team the Twins take on my First place team the Red Sox... I was unsure if I wanted to use my vacation time for something like this, especially since the weather forcast was not looking good. I asked him if he thought it would be worth it, me taking a half day of work off for a baseball game. To which he responded "Well I think so, but I will leave it up to you." I am a die hard Red Sox fan, so who am I to turn down a chance to see the Sox play in another field. So I left work at 11:30 am and headed up to MN to meet my then BF. We met up and headed to lunch at Famous Dave's BBQ and I asked him why on earth he was brining his camera and camera case into the restaraunt. He was like you never know when you may need it. (I thought this was a little odd but I just went with it. ) We took some goofy pictures and had a fun time over lunch/early dinner. **Little did I know that the ring was at the bottom of the camera case and he was not letting that case leave his side LOL **
Once we got up to MN we checked into our hotel and headed over to the game. By this time it was raining and I was very glad that the Twins played in a Dome! We got to our seats and I was shocked to see how close we were to the field!
BESTWEEKEND017.jpg

During the 7th inning we were both getting hungry but ballpark food was not sounding good. He asked if I wanted to take a walk after and find a place to eat. I told him since it was raining why don't we just get food delivered to our room. He said no, we can find a place right around here that would be good. So I said Okay! After the game **Which the Sox WON** We started to walk and my FH asked a police officer how we could get to the Mississippi River. Amazingly the sky had cleared up, the stars were out, Temperature was perfect and we found a great spot along the Mississippi River. As I was trying to take pictures of the great bridge that we were near the FH put his arm around me and said "Stacy will you be my Lady **Note the referance from when he asked me to be his girl**.. Well me being a little clueless and trying to figure out why my camera could not take a decent picture I said " Honey you know I am your girl and I love you very much. He then said, "Well I know you are my girl, but will you be my Lady" As I started to turn towards him I said I do not understand, what do... And before I could finish the sentence I was facing him and he was down on one knee with the open ring box
IMG_0073-1.jpg
in hand and said "Stacy (Insert full name here) I love you with all my heart, Will you Marry Me?" After the initial shock I must of said YES about 100 times and started to Cry. I could not of pictured it a more perfect way!
We were still hungry after this whole ordeal and really lucked out by finding a great Irish pub and grill and not only did we have great food, some great Irish beer but there was also a Live band playing great Irish music and Irish Drinking songs. Their name is Legacy and it was awesome! They sang a great Irish drinking song to us in celebration of our Engagement. Here is a picture of me with the band:

Well after he proposed it was time to call my family. I woke everyone up on the East Coast to tell them our Good News.. Well I completely forgot about the time difference and did not care. My family was very happy but already knew! LOL He had called and asked for my Mothers permission back in March (Which is when he first wanted to propose on our trip to AZ, but could not get the ring here on time from Ireland so he had to wait) Here is a shot of the Ring:

Well, we picked a date that seemed to be so far away but yet it was right around the Corner. October of this year! I am soo happy! As of this recently I was 2 Months Out from being a Mrs!! :bride: And where we are both Catholic, we will be having a Catholic Mass Wedding and since he has never been to Disney (:scared1: ) And I have been 13 times :woohoo: I convinced him that it would be a great place to celebrate our wedding and Honeymoon!! We leave for our Disneymoon Shortly after I am sooooooo Happy! :dance3:

I picked out my dress after trying on about 20 different ones and I just knew when I put it on it was the one.. Here are some shots of the dress:

I had some issues with my BM dresses that I never saw coming. Apparently if you want to order a dress you need to do it 6 months in advance. Well the bridal store Never told me that so when I went to go order them I was told NO. I said well if I am paying for them how can you tell me no, so she explained how I needed to do it 6 months in advance and was very rude about it. So I decided that I would go elsewhere for my BM dresses. I never would of thought I would say this but I ordered them through Target *Who knew they had a whole Bridal Line? :confused3 * SO All of my BM got their dresses within 7 days and they all fit!! :woohoo:

Here is a shot of the dress on the Model. We are going with the Black Dress, Probably Pink sashes that my FMIL is going to make for all of them.

Here is the back detail that matches my Button detail on my dress:

Phew, this Post is getting pretty long. I think I will stop here for now and continue on another one. Thanks for listening... Well I guess Reading!! :cheer2:

Cheers: Stacy

On to the flowers I guess... I had in my mind a bouquet that looked like a bunch of wild flowers. At first I thought I wanted Orange and reds and yellows for a fall theme but since I could not get the BM dresses I wanted and we went with the black ones I knew I could do the wild flower look. So after looking through about 5 different floral books I found the one that I LOVED and it was not expensive at all!! $35 for the bridal and @25 for the BM... WOO HOO!! Here is a shot of what it will look like.

This weekend was a large wedding weekend for us.. Since we knew time was getting tight it was time to get a large chunk of things taken care of. We first went and had the FH try on some TUX's to see which ones we like. We have those all picked out and it should be the Groom in a black pinstripe with a silver vest and a silver and black tie.

Here is the pinstripe suit:

And here is the suits for the GM and Ushers

I will have my two little nephews in our wedding which made the tux decision a little hard but easier as the day went on.

Our wedding Party is going to be all family that way no friends felt left out or left behind. I will have my sister as my MOH and his two sisters as a BM and a Junior BM. Then he will Have his two brothers as GM and my oldest Nephew as a Junior Groomsman. My youngest Nephew will be our ring bearer and my sister just had a little baby girl so we figured she could be an Honorary (sp) flower girl and just get a really pretty dress.

We also picked out our cake this weekend and picked out what flavor sheet cakes we wanted. We will have a 3 tier round cake for our wedding cake and all but the top layer will be fake. The Top layer will be chocolate cake with White frosting. This is a picture off of a cake designers website but our is going to look almost the same except ours will be all white and our top layer will have icing balls all over it instead of groups of three (Which i thought would make great Mickey's but the dots all over looked best with the other layers) We will have the same crisscross pattern on the bottom layer, swirls on the middle layer and dots on the top:

I was shocked when I found this picture since the FH and I created what we wanted out of different designs that our cake maker had done before!

Up Next.. Honeymoon planning....

After much begging and pleading from me I convinced my FH to let me plan and book a Disney Honeymoon, He said yes! LOL

So after much research and a couple changes to the reservations we are flying out the Morning of October 21st and will be in Orlando by 1:30pm :woohoo: I am sooo Happy!! The last time I was in WDW was in May of 2005.. I am so happy to return and to see all the changes that have been made. The only thing I am upset about is that they are making over SSE (Which is one of my all time favorite rides) and it will not be open while we are there.

I have us booked for the POP Century ( I know it is nothing too romantic but since my FH is going back to college we are trying to do Disney on a budget but yet stay on property!) We have a 5 day park pass and are possibly going to MNSSHP... I am not sure if we are doing this because we are both in our mid to late 20's and I am not sure if this is something we should tackle.. Has anyone here done this as a couple in their 20's? If so how was it? Was it worth the extra money?

We signed up for the Disney Honeymoon registry right away and were shocked to see that we already have 2 gifts. My nephews bought us the bride and groom Mickey ears and were really Excited that we were going to see Mickey but they were sad that we were not taking them. The other gift we got was something I wanted to do since the food sounded great and the show looks amazing. We will be having dinner at The Spirit of Aloha Dinner Show!! We already have the ADR's and one of my mothers friends have already paid for it on our honeymoon registry gift card! WOO HOO!

I was thinking about doing another ADR for the Coral Reef, but I am not sure.. I have never been to this restaraunt and would appreciate any feedback you all have on your experience there. I have heard that V&A's is good but sadly we do not have the money to spend for a nice dinner there.

If anyone has any great tips on romantic or adventurous things to do on or off of Disney Property that would be greatly appreciated! We are looking for fun things to do that might not include the Disney park, but would have the Disney magic feel!

Thanks in Advance! :o)

Congratulations!! Everything you have planned sounds and looks wonderful! Do you have any pics of the ceremony or reception sites? (Even though they're not Disney doesn't mean it isn't fun to see them!!) Your DF sounds like such a sweetheart! Gotta love those Midwest boys!! (Mine is from Missouri, and I'm from Jersey.)

As for the Coral Reef, I'm not a seafood eater myself, so I can't comment on the food. I have heard that it's not the greatest, but... for special occasions you can get custom menus and request "Scuba Mickey" and other fun stuff like that, so that might make it worth it. Plus, it's just a cool place to dine--we're having our reception at the Living Seas, so I might be a little biased... ;)

Thanks for your input on the coral reef.. I never even know about the "Scuba Mickey". I will have to check into it. And yes those Midwest boys will get you every time! LOL

Here is a shot that I pulled up on Google of our wedding site. It is a Catholic Church in his home town. It is a great church and has a lot of stained glass so I am thinking of doing little decorating *Maybe just pew bows and some flowers on the alter* and letting the natural beauty of the church be the decorations. Here are the shots..

And here is a shot of the invitations that we made. The trinity knot in the middle is very special to us because we both have Irish back grounds and both my engagement ring and the Claddagh that he got me both have the trinity knot on either side.

That is all I have for now... I am still working on the wedding program.

Your church is beautiful! And I agree, with the beauty of the stained glass, you probably don't need to do much to decorate.

Very cool that you both have Irish backgrounds and are incorporating that into your invitations and rings. We both have English backgrounds but didn't come up with anything "uniquely English". We talked about displaying our coats-of-arms at the ceremony site (the U.K. Pavilion, in Epcot), and Disney encouraged us to use the "English Butler" to present the rings, but we didn't end up doing any of that. The Trinity Knot on your invitations is great--I'm sure your families will really appreciate those sorts of details!

Congratulations!!! Everything looks so beautiful! I'm so excited for you, you are so close! I know what you mean about wanting to go back, I went to disney practically every year growing up, and i haven't been there since 2002 :scared1: Can't wait to go back! The dress is beautiful, and I love the ring!!

That would be neat to display your coat of Arms. Do you both know what yours looks like and have you found something with the CoA on it? Maybe you could look into getting napkins made with your coat of Arms for your married name?

Thanks for the nice words on the Church non-decorating idea.. hehe I love the wood work and the stained glass in there so much!

Thank you so much! I am pretty excited myself.. Every girl dreams of their wedding but it is so surreal when it is actually being put into place!

Growing up I went almost every other year. My family are all disney fanatics.. I do not think there are many of our friends that understand why we love Disney so much, but all I can say to them is that there are so many family memories there that how could I not love Disney!

Yes, we've found both of them online. DF actually has a framed picture of his already. Sadly, it's too late to do anything for our wedding now. It would have been very cute to have them on little cocktail napkins or something at the reception. DF would have loved that!! But maybe I will look into having napkins made for some future gift. DF is really into geneology and stuff like that...

Wow I am totally in love with your engagement ring! That is the most beautiful design on it. Everything else is looking wonderful too! I especially like your wildflower bouquets and your cake. Can't beat the price on the bouquets! Good luck with the rest of your planning!

Well it stinks that you could do the napkin thing but you are soooooo close to your wedding and I am so excited for you. This must all seem surreal by now, since you are less than a week a way. That is great that your FH was able to find his coat of arms and frame it. That is a fantastic thing to have for your house! Great way to symbolize your union. I hope your wedding is everything you wanted and planned it to be!

Thanks for the comment on the ring. I kind of picked it out without even knowing it. He asked what I would look for in a ring and the band was something I thought was unique and it was on the top of my list for the pictures I sent to him. And sure enough he ordered it.. lol Thank you so much for the complents and thank you for reading my PJ!

OK... I have a question for everyone here... Does anyone know of a great website that showcases hair styles? I am trying to find the perfect hairstyle and I kind of have one in mind but can not find exactly what I am looking for! Any help would be greatly appreciated!

The best site I ever found for hairstyle pics was theknot.com. I think I also looked at brides.com. Sorry I don't have any more "original" suggestions :(

Oh, and BTW, DF found his framed coat-of-arms at the U.K. pavilion in Epcot (right where we're getting married!) I thought that was pretty cool when he told me...

Congragulations from a fellow Disneymooner!! I love everything you've planned so far! And your dress is so pretty, you are going to be a beautiful bride!!!

And for hairstyles, haircomesthebride.com is a great website w/lots of diff styles.

Can't wait to read more!

So I am trying to figure out the best hair style to go with my Tiara that my FMIL got me! So any input would be appreciated! Here is the tiara:
tiara-1.jpg

I have fairly long hair and I am used to wearing it up, so I would like to wear an updo.. I was thinking a big elegant bun type look that would fit in the tiara, but I am just struggling at what would be best for a wedding. Here are some ideas, and if you all have other thoughts please feel free to post the photo! Thanks all! (I got these photos from Google... I am not sure who the people are hehe)

I really think this one is nice. Plus it shows what a tiara would look like with it.

I like this one but I am not sure what the back or side of her head looks like!

And this final one is my odd ball, For some reason I like the elegant look of it but I am not sure how the tiara would tie in!

Hey! We were going to Disneymoon in December, but I bumped it up to October because I figured I would need a vacation after the wedding!

Congrats on your wedding! I live about 45 mins from you. Not too far!

Ooohh... I love the little shamrocks!! That's a great tiara! I think my favorite hair pic is the one about which you said, "I like this one but I am not sure what the back or side of her head looks like!" Personally, I like it when the tiara is right at the edge of the "front" and the "back" of the updo, if that makes sense...

I guess there are a lot of options for what you could do with the back. Maybe even a modification of that last "odd ball" picture you have, with the pinned curls higher up on your head??

Another factor to consider is your veil. Are you having one? Are you having a blusher and a veil? Do you want the veil under or over your hair? Another nice thing about that one style (my favorite, that you like) is that it works nicely with a veil. The last couple might be tricky with a veil...

Yes I am having a veil... It will be my something borrowed for my wedding. I would ideally like it to be tucked under my hair so it does not show the hair comb that it is all attached to. The veil is about 2 layers, but kind of full. I am not sure what a blusher is. I might need a little filling in on that! hehehe
