a lot depends on when you are going...when we go off season usually the only really crowded places are right by the entrances to WS/FW .from there you can see all the lands so probably the best spot but it is crowded and usually filled with selfish crabby peoplelongbefore hand which makes for less than pleasant viewing imo( the kind who expect you not to step into their individual 300 sq ft of viewing area any time after 3 hrs before the show. last time a bunch were sitting on a wall probably 20 feet from the fence and in true disney spirit screamed at everyone who dared get in front of them ). so we usually avoid them like the plague and usually go someplace around Mexico - Morroco and stand by the wall. last time we sat by Uk but got someone in front of us at the last moment so we had to stand but not that big of deal imo. personally, we've seen it many times and i can't remember a particularly bad spot along the ws lake, as long as you can see the center of the lake you can see it from where ever you are.
