There's a possibility of ANYTHING.

The rumor (RUMOR) is that there will be a new show
in Epcot premiering after that date.

But, since this rumor was from Jim Hill Media, don't put
any faith in it until you see the official Disney Press Release.

BTW, we are still waiting for Disney Quest in DTD to close.
Jim Hill said that would happen in 2008.

I was wondering the same thing after I saw it online.
Said it was being replaced with DisneySea Symphony (Formerly from Tokyo DisneySea ).

I really want to see IllumiNations!

I can watch wishes a million times and never get bored but illuminations isnt as exciting for me. dont get me wrong i still love it but i wouldnt be bummed if they did something new to replace illuminations. I feel its alot of looking at water and I wish illuminations had more fireworks to it..but thats just my opinion

Illuminations Reflections of Earth is coming up on 10 years. I know because the first time I saw it was with my niece in October 1999. It was created for the Millenium (another thousand circles around the sun). As much as I love it, it's time for something new.

I'd seen the Jim Hill item too- we were hoping for a new illuminations for when we are there in October. The current show is not bad, but I've seen it before and am always looking forward to something new (except for the electric water parade - if that ever goes away I will cry buckets )

We love IllumiNations but we would love a new show too. I'm always excited to see changes at WDW because they do most things so well.

That being said, this is the first I'm hearing of this rumour so I can't help you out.

i'm ready or something new at epcot! the last few times, we've parked ourselves by the shooting fountain and just watched the fireworks. just seems there could be something more exciting than the globe, especially for this long amount of time.

Isn't it weird that they just refurbed the glove last year and now they are changing the show??

I guess I have mixed feeling about it, I love Illuminations it's one of my favorites, but I would mind seeing something new. Do you really think they would do away with it after just refurbishing the globe, or do you think they would work it into a new show?

This ROE news is "as of now" not on any other boards. If this is/was true, every WDW board online would be on this. Which makes me believe this is not true. Could someone post a link from Jim Hill or something?

Well they've certainly been running Illuminations a lot longer than that. I don't know how long they've been running a show specifically labled as "Reflections of Earth", but is it that different from the Illumiations they ran before that?

Yes it is. I first went to WDW in 1994 and it was different before ROE. There was no globe, fire barge or torches. It was dancing fountains in the lake and lasers. A voice would call out each of the countries by name, I think there was a message in that country's language. During the Christmas season, they ran "Holiday Illuminations" which was Christmas music.

I agree with those that think there'd be more hype if they were really doing away with it so soon.
That being said, I have serious concerns that one of these days these rumors are going to pan out, and the changes will be like most WDW has made as of late, that is they won't be for the better. Illuminations is currently my favorite nighttime show, and if they do away with it and create a worse show in its place that may be the dealbreaker for me. There have been a lot of recent changes that have left me questioning why I go back, and the destruction of Illuminations could very well be the last straw.
