Has anyone attended the Illuminations Sparkling Dessert Party recently? Was it worth it?

Are they offering that now? As it wasn't showing last last year for 2015 reservations people were wondering if it was going to be offered again.

We did it on Dec 27. Was it 'worth it' financially? Probably not, it's overpriced for the desserts you get. Would we do it again? Probably. I guess we didn't mind paying a 'premium' to have a nice, relaxed atmosphere with a good view of Illuminations, where we could eat desserts and drink as much as we pleased. Given it was such a crowded time of year for us it was nice not to be out in the masses.

If you drink, it was an ok deal. The Persecco/champagne was probably cheap, but I had a couple small glasses of that. They also served a rum punch that was good, and strong. If you don't drink it's not that good a deal financially. We figured we could have gotten desserts and drinks in one of the countries and saved $20 to $30 a person (kids and wife), where I might have broke even not having to pay for a few drinks.

As I said, it was nice to be in a relaxed atmosphere though, not worrying about who was going to show up late, stand in front of you, ruin your kid's view of the show. How do you put a price/value on that, especially since it isn't something you must do to get a decent view of the show. While there generally isn't any 'seating', we grabbed a table by one of the planting areas that has a low wall around it, so we were able to sit some while we enjoyed dessert and then stood for the show. We weren't up on the railing, but that didn't matter and our view was great.

My main complaint was the lack of seating. Next time I would get a much better dessert and cocktail from the world showcase and park myself on a bench or curb early on. I didn't think it was worth the $$.

The big differences to remember when compared to the MK fireworks party are that 1) there is booze and 2) there are no seats. I think the selection of desserts is also smaller.
