I read somewhere (and cant remember where now  ) that Illuminations wouldnt have the globe from the 5th of September as its undergoing rehab on its screens?

Does anyone know if this is true? i cant find anything about it now? Im hoping it was just my imagination!! :goodvibes

I have heard this too, and also that there are rumors of extra fireworks to replace the globe.

can't remember where I saw or heard this, maybe on one of the podcasts ??

Personally I would do away with it, would prefer just a fireworks and laser show.

I guess you like it then?
I never understand why they do it, big ball of flames and some pictures on it:confused3 maybe I have just seen it too many times, about 15 so far:goodvibes
Not my sort of thing obviously, much rather see the fireworks, lasers and fountains.

Epcot has a special place in my heart as I worked there for a year, I still remember my last night watching illuminations knowing that it was going to be a long time before I would see it again and that I may never see some of my friends and co-workers ever again. A few of use cried like wailing widows that night!

for that reason I hope that Disney never mess round with it, though I know there will come a day when it will happen, I just hope they dont pixar it up and have stich bursting through the globe or something!

Now there is a great idea:lmao:
I am not happy they have taken the arm and wand away, boring without it. I want to see a big Mickey peering over the top.:rotfl2:

The globe section of IllumiNations can appear a bit tedious from some viewing spots where it's more difficult to see. For years I only ever saw it from the bridge between UK and France (either from the bridge itself or from a boat beneath it). Since we began watching from a closer viewpoint, coupled with a great familiarity (and love of) the music, I've come to appreciate it much more. This trip we got VIP passes to a roped-off private viewing area in the centre-front of World Showcase Plaza. Now this is where IllumiNations was intended to be viewed from! We were bang-slap in the middle of the action, so everything was symmetrical, and the globe was really close and so much more impressive.

Yes I agree, it is best seen from this area, we have always been around England-France area but this last time right near the roped off section and it was better but still rather have it without it.
Maybe stood near you Debbie, You wern't there on the Sat 25th Aug were you?
