Can you all share some great places to eat for viewing Illuminations? I would prefer a table service, but could do quick.

Are there any resort restaurants or just Epcot?

What time should I book?

Thanks!!!

**We are booked in Italy for dinner, but DD is 4 and I am re-thinking that. Hubby and I love Tutto, but...

There are no restaurants that you will be guaranteed a table where you can see Illuminations. I know the Rose and Crown has a patio, and I think LaHacienda also has outdoor seating available, but you may or may not get an outside table.

There aren't any resort restaurants where you can see Illuminations at all.

That is what I was thinking, but I hoped that I had just missed something. I think we sat a Hacienda years ago. We got lucky...

It may be too late for my little one, anyway...

I guess I need to decide on a totally different plan. We might skip dinner and do the Fantasmic show. I have never seen it. Wonder if it is too loud for her???

I have always travelled with grown-ups. This is our first kid trip.

I don't think Fantasmic is that loud. It's a HUGE outdoor stadium, so there's no echo effect, which minimizes the sound.

However, some parents report their children are scared of the dragon and the fire effects, but some children are not. My advice: watch Fantasmic on youtube and decide if you think your child will be scared.

If you don't want to ruin Fantasmic for yourself... get someone else who knows your child well to watch it on youtube ;)

If you get lucky you can see Illuminations from La Hacienda (inside). We had dinner there in December and requested a table in the larger room but did not get it. We even offered to wait longer, but they wouldn't let us. I've heard the view is great if you are seated in the right place. :sad2:

DB and I decided to eat at the QS in Morocco and as we sat on the bench eating he started chatting with 2 CMs that were roping off the boat dock in front of Morocco. Long story short, they let us sit on the dock for all of Illuminations  It was such an amazing view and you never know where some kind words to a CM who has had a tough day can take you!

The rose and crown was fantastick for illuminations

It is if you get a patio seat..However, Depending on the night and the Cm, they might not allow you to wait for a patio table and may tell you need to take the first available.

If you are seated indoors at Rose and Crown, let your server know you want to see IllumiNations. There is a viewing area reserved for just the diners of the Rose & Crown. You'll be able to go out there to watch, then afterwards return to finish your dinner. Or if you finish eating shortly before the start of IllumiNations they will let you go out there to watch as well.

We had a 7:45 ADR at La Hacienda in December on the night of a 9:30 Illuminations show and it was a FANTASTIC spot to view and hear the show (though you do miss some of the high fireworks). We were probably 10 minutes late for our ADR but it all worked great for us. And the drinks and food were excellent.
