Illuminations in Japan

I read in an article that a good view for Illuminations is to watch it from the balcony in Japan where the entrance to Teppan Edo is. Do they allow just anyone to go up there and watch the fireworks?

Im also wondering the same thing. we have reservations close to illuminations time and wanna know how easy it would be to watch from there

Just wanna add I'm joking. Don't even know how to delete a thread. I'm afraid if too many people start filling it up, Disney is gonna start charging $100 bucks for a fireworks sushi party or something. :scared:

It really isn't the perfect view. That big arch is in the way.

This.

The view from there MIGHT be very good, except that huge icon is in the way.
(Plus, the blockage from the "islands" also seen in the photo.)

The photo below was taken (not by me) at ground-level, but the roof of the "gate" will block
part of the views of IllumiNations if you are on the balcony.

There are SO MANY more amazing IllumiNations viewing locations that there's no need to fret over trying to get to the less-than-perfect places.

Good visual! Wonder if anyone has a pic from up there. I never wait for a parade/fireworks to start so I take what I can get. The arch is better than tree branches in my case.

You don't go up to the restaurant, just take the giant staircase out in front of the pavilion. It does get crowded, and as has been said, the view is not perfect.

We've watched from there a number of times, always a great view. The torii is a non concern from up there. I recall one time, Regis Philbin, when he was involved with Disney, was watching there with his VIP entourage. I would think they would want him to have a good view. BTW, he was a drip.

That location consistently ranks up there in prime locations....

Have a great trip!
