Illuminations from Tepan Edo Balcony?

When looking at dining reviews I noted a comment that the reviewer was allowed out onto a balcony or patio to view Illuminations. Is this still possible? What would be a good time for the reservation to ensure this possibility? How is the view? We have dined at Rose & Crown and viewed Illuminations from there which was quite nice, but there are no reservations currently available.

It is not a balcony for Teppan Edo, like you experienced at the Rose & Crown. It is a balcony for the entire building and it is actually outside of Tokoyo Dining. It is open to the general public, not just those eating in Japan. It can, and does, get crowded.
I don't think you would be able to leave in the middle of your dinner at Teppan Edo to go out and watch Illuminations and then come back and finish eating. Timing is different at Teppan Edo, as full tables are seated and cleared all at once.
If you want to be finished your dinner in time to join the masses on the balcony I would suggest an ADR around 7:15.

Thanks for the info from me, too! I've got an ADR at Teppan Edo at 7:10 on my birthday, and this sounds perfect. Grab a Kirin and watch Illuminations from the balcony.
