Illuminations from La Hacienda

First, sorry if this has already been asked!! I originally had a 4:00 ADR for La Hacienda to get a break from the heat, but now I'm thinking of holding off til Illuminations. I realize that a lot of the restaurant has no view of it, but I was wondering if up until a certain time you can wait for a table with a view? For instance, if I make a 7:15 reservation, would I be able to wait for one? Thanks in advance!

You can always request a specific table or view, but of course nothing is guaranteed. If you are willing to wait, there's a better chance. Each tie we've requested a specific area of a restaurant, we've been granted it.

You can request. They may allow you to wait for a specific seating. If they are very busy, they may not. I remember a guy going ballistic out front because they wouldn't guarantee him an Illuminations view for his wife's birthday.

The night we were there they weren't allowing anyone to wait for an Illuminations view table. Everyone requested it. We were actually seated in the side room with no view at all.
I would never make a La Hacienda ADR to see Illuminations. Your chances are greater that you will not have a view.

What she said! We saw the same thing happen when we were there during free dining/F&W in Sept.

Thanks, everyone! I've seen Illuminations before so I wasn't worried about being front and center, but I'd also hate to wait so long to eat dinner just to be stuck in a corner with NO view of ANYTHING. So, I think I'll stick with the early reservation.
