Illuminations Fireworks Cruise - New Years Eve!

I called this morning to inquire about the cruise and they said they only had the 9:00 PM cruise available. I mentioned that Illuminations was at 6 PM and midnight that night. The CM double checked and said I was correct and that there was a midnight cruise available, but it was more expensive than the earlier one. Given the fact that it was available, I booked it . Now I just need to get a second job to pay for it lol .

What can you tell me about these? Is the view worth the small fortune? I'm thinking it'll be worth avoiding the NYE crowds

Don't do it very often, but I'm going to disagree with Robo here and say that the view is worth the money -- once in a lifetime. We did it once, but wouldn't do it over and over again. It was a lovely experience, and the view was absolutely perfect and unobstructed. Great way to spend NYE.

I LIKE the cruise just fine, but the "view" is not the best for IllumiNations.
The angle is limited (and about half of the lagoon is cut off) due to the location that the boats are tied-up during the show.

Again, I LIKE the cruise, as it is quite a special event, but the OP asked SPECIFICALLY about the "view" being worth the cost...

and there are many better, more balanced and complete, viewing-locations around the WS Lagoon to see IllumiNations.

What is SPECIAL about the cruise is the ability to be seated, away from the crowds, sometimes with refreshments, and enjoy a (more or less) "private" showing.

I LIKE the cruise, but not directly for the view.
