Illuminations Dessert Party for 2009 Marathon Weekend

That sounds fun! We'll be there in spirit as we fly out Sunday afternoon! Have a bite of Tiramisu for me!

Allyson :)

Awesome idea!!!
DH & I would be in.. Not sure about DD, she's not a fireworks gal yet (still doesn't like the noise) :confused3
Thanks.

I have ALWAYS wanted to do a dessert party at Epcot. So assuming I can find a charity to sign on with, manage to not get injured and IN FACT make it for the weekend, I (and DH and DD) would LOVE to attend!

just spotted this thread.......John and I would LOVE to do it!

I'd be interested! My DH and I and our DD, who would be 18 months old at that time.

I'd probably be interested, depending on the bottom line.

Thanks for even considering taking on this effort!

With price point being a consideration, DW and I would be interested. I'd love to meet everyone and besides, I LOVE Illuminations and a special view would have a high "cool factor."

I received some info back from Disney. The dessert menu I'm proposing is:

The Petit Classics
Cheesecake
Chocolate Éclair
Chocolate Fudge Brownies
Pistachio Cannoli
Linzer Diamonds
Cream Horns
Fruit Tarts
Tiramisu
Also, included is coffee, tea, cold drinks, etc.

I looks like the cost would be about $42 per person, plus or minus a dollar. This would cover the cost of the catering, venue rental fee, tax, gratuity, and Paypal fee. We would be looking at most likely going for the area in front of Italy, or as a backup, one of the places in front of France. Until I sign a contract and make a deposit, everything is subject to change.

I know price was a critical point for some, so this is a preview of the approximate price involved with a Dessert Party like this.

Wow, that seems steep for an hour of sweets......can you get them to throw in some champagne? :rotfl: Still, I'd probably be willing to do it just to be in the company of my fellow WISH team members. I suppose after completing a marathon I deserve to treat myself to something special. We're still in.

Plans have changed such that I will need to be returning home on Sunday, so I'm actually not as in as I had thought I would be. Too bad, too, cause those desserts sound spectacular.

Just an FYI, if I recall correctly this was about what we paid 2 years ago (I mean it may have been slightly less due to Disney inflation, but in the same ballpark). It was delightful.

I am not sure of my schedule this year, so I am afraid I can't commit at this time.

Another FYI, if you don't have an annual pass, and don't want to use a full day's park admission for the Illuminations Party, for an extra fee ($14 in 2006) you can be admitted to Epcot for just the party.

Little higher than I thought but after the marathon, we deserve something special. Count us in still!

I'm game. :teeth:

There will be 2 of us...maybe 4. Will know later.

SO, my Mom and I are still in for the dessert party. (Still waiting for my work schedule for January).
