Do you think we will be allowed to let the kids bring ice cream on the cruise....I have been reading that they arent that strict about outside food and wouldnt think of bringing a cooler or anything but was wondering if the kids could carry on a snack.

I would discourage something as messy as ice cream. Too much potential for a dropped cone/cup onto the pontoon's rug.

Most drivers "look the other way" when guests bring aboard light snacks and drinks. Remember, it is only a 1-hour cruise, and most of the time the boat is in motion. It is not an easy feat to eat while the boat is in motion, and it does not park until 5-10 minutes before IllumiNations, which is as much as 40 minutes from the departure time.

We've ordered veggie and fruit platters + drinks from Y&B dining and had them delivered to the boat, so they definitely don't discourage you from eating/drinking on the boat and we had no problem doing it while the boat was moving. They don't go fast and you usually don't encounter high seas while on the cruise. Why shuld the CM care if you bring eats/drinks on board as long as you clean up after yourself?

I didn't say they discourage ordering and eating on the boat, I said I would discourage Ice Cream on the boat.

And, Veggie and Fruit Platters are "finger food" very easily eaten while in motion, not a melting ice cream cone or cup.

Ultimately, it is the driver's position to leave his boat clean and prepped for the next day's use. That may require sweeping, scrubbing, and/or spraying down the entire rug with a hose.

The "official" stand is, all food/drink items served on the cruise are to be purchased along with the cruise and supplied by the driver.

I would bring a snack that's a little neater than ice cream. We have a boat and cleaning up the food debris after we have guests can be a pain.
