I followed the link on booking the illumination cruise and am still confused. When you ask for an 8pm speciality cruise do you need to ask for boardwalk and yacht club? I see that it can do Magic Kingdom Fireworks as well? Do they leave from the same place and once you get your reservation you tell them where? Also once you book for 8pm how do you get them to change it to leaving at 8:30?

Thanks

You don't get to specify which one you want. You could probably request a preference. They let you know which location your cruise leaves from.

There are two different cruises 1. Fireworks cruise -- that cruise is for viewing the fireworks at the Magic Kingdom 2. Specialy cruise -- this is for viewing Illuminations at Epcot. They leave from 2 different areas. When calling for the "Specialty Cruise" and they say they are full don't forget to ask if that includes the one from the Boardwalk.. Sometimes this one is overlooked. They normally leave from the Yacht club you can request (may not always happen) to be picked up at the Boardwalk. There is only on Pontoon boat that belongs to the Boardwalk this one will pick you up there. Also they tell you what time they leave you don't get to pick your time. It is for an hour and 99% of the time it includes the Illuminations from Epcot. They always leave around 8 pm sometimes they get off a little later.

Pienut, after you have the boat reserved simply tell them you want to see Illuminations and they will set it up so that you leave the dock a little later.

When I reserved an Illuminations Cruise I was "assigned" to the Boardwalk and that is where we boarded our pontoon. Other pontoons leave from Yacht/Beach Club and at least one leaves from elsewhere, I believe. You don't usually have a choice over your departure point but you could ask.

YC/BC is just across the lagoon from Boardwalk, within walking distance, a short walking distance, so there isn't much difference between leaving from one or the other, in my opinion.

The "fireworks" cruises are for viewing the Magic Kingdom fireworks and are also magical. They seem to be a little easier to reserve than the Illuminations specialty cruise (can't figure out why, though).

Good luck with this :)
