Illuminations cruise - where do they pickup/drop off?

inside or outside EpCot? is a park ticket necessary?

Pick-up is either at Boardwalk or Y/BC docks. I don't think you need a park pass for the cruise. We were dropped off at the Intn'l Gateway when we did our cruise so that we could walk back thru Epcot and catch the monorail back to Polynesian. But, we had hoppers so it wasn't a problem for us. Normally, you would be dropped off where you picked up the boat.
