Illuminations Cruise Tip Question...

Hi Everyone! I am so excited for our Illuminations Cruise in a few weeks that I booked as a surprise for my DH for our 20th anniversary trip! Here's my question... I understand that when I check in for the cruise, I can pay with a credit card at the window/booth for the cruise. Can I put the tip on that card at the same time or should I bring cash to tip the captain? How much do you tip? 20%? That would work out to about $50. Is that right?

I tip the cruise captain 20-25% and in cash - my thoughts are I'd rather give the cash so they don't have to wait for the cc to go thru and then get their money.

the captain will definitely appreciate cash over the credit.

The IRS would appreciate credit over cash LOL

20% is a good tip, 25% is a great tip.
