Both are essentially the same, as far as boat is concerned. Just that if you book a time later in the evening, it would wind up being an Illuminations cruise. Boats go out of the Boardwalk and Y&BC docks. Most from the latter. You do book the boat, not just seats, so if others were joining you, it would be at your choosing.
Thanks for the information. I would love to do the birthday cruise (DN will be 5 during our stay) but I'm not sure if I want to pay $220+ for cake, soft drinks and decorations vs just a regular pontoon cruise for $120+. There are only 5 of us. Decisions, decisions lol.
Fun yes, but it's also driving me crazy. Everyday I view the boards and see something new. We're only staying 7 days and I'm trying to squeeze as much in as possible.
