Can you take a wheelchair on the Illuminations cruise?? Has anyone done this?? DS loves firewirks and we thought it would be a wonderful surprise but we can't transfer him out of his wheelchair without it causing problems. Thanks for any info in advance.

I have been told that it is. You just have to get on at the Boardwalk rather than the Yacht and Beach Club. We have booked one for May, and my mom is in a wheelchair. Typically, the boat we have reserved leaves from Y&B, but they have told me that they will let us get on at Boardwalk without a problem.

We have not been on it, but I've been told it is a pontoon boat. We have rented a pontoon boat many times from OKW to take out for a little boat ride. We also have taken the pontoon style boats from OKW, PO-Riverside and New Orleans to go to DD.
If you DS has a manual wheelchair, it shouldn't be a problem. If he has a power chair, there may be a probelm, depending on the water levels at the time.
