I've been calling recreation at WDW for the last few weeks on each time to be told that no illumination cruises had been set up in the system for the 2nd fireworks show. Finally today I get a CM on the phone who tells me that the 11:40 fireworks cruise is considered a Level III speciality cruise and is therefore priced a little differently.

Cruises we have taken in the past have been $120.00 (Plus tip) for the BOAT of up to 10 adults, and 2 kids.

Level III speciality cruises are $347.00 for the first 4 people and $49.00 for each person after that (Adult or child).

So for a boat load of 10, that would be appx $650.00!!!!

Anyone else find this just a little steep for a 35 min cruise? :wave2:

And thank goodness for protecting me and my wallet......they were all booked up!

Steep? I think that's ridiculous!!! The only way that I would ever imagining doing this, would be if I was with a party of 5 couples, splitting the price. Do you know how much my family of 3 could do for that price? Lots of things that would be more fun than a 35 min. cruise.

Found this description of Level III cruises from Deb Willis's site:

$350.00 - Level 3 - up to 4 people. Includes boat, driver, sandwiches, soda, water, snacks, dessert, fruit and cheese, Alcohol ( a bottle of wine or a bottle of champagne or beer), boat decoration theming. $50.00 for each additional adult. And it mentioned that the cruise was 50 minutes long.

Why is it that the community here CAN BE so much more informative and resourceful than SOME of the CM's (or me in this case...)....

Thanks a bunch, it certainly does help in justifying the cost......and I still wish I caould have found one avail........

Keep trying... cancellations do happen! I have done an IllumiNations NYE cruise and it's a great way to see Epcot's amazing NYE fireworks display. Even better, you get to look up at the bridge between France and England and see the crowd that you are not in. That, by itself, is worth the cost, IMO. (I'm a short person and don't do well in crowds!)
