Illuminations Cruise for May??

I know you cannot yet call for May.
But I have a question about booking.
I only have two people in my group, and I wondered if it would be better for me to try to get a cruise, then find others on the DIS?? (Since you have to have 4 people minimum). Or wait to find a cruise to join??

Opinions?
(I will be looking for May 6-14th (except for the 11th)

Anyone else that will looking for these dates??

I'd suggest trying both. If you're lucky enough to get the cruise, I'm sure you wouldn't have any difficulty getting others to join you. I'll be at WDW with my mother then, although I've been on the cruise 3 times, I'm always happy to go again-but I'm sure there'd be others who've never done it who'd want to go. Then, if you can't get the cruise (and this last trip, although I called every morning, I never got it), then fall back on Plan B-joining a cruise. But it's such a popular cruise, I'd suggest trying everything.

Why do you have to have a 4 person minimum? DH and I did it two years ago and it was just us. Have they changed that?

I read the FAQ's for trying to book a cruise, this is what it says....

"Cruises are offered all day, from noon to 10pm at two-hour intervals. Specialty cruises during fireworks times book quickly so call right at 7am! Packages have a 4-person minimum, with a maximum party size of 10 adults, or 12 people if the party includes children. Package plans range from Basic Plan (boat only) to Birthday packages and other levels that can include snacks, desserts, wine and cheese, and decorations. "


So... I assumed I needed 4 people????

Wow, I wonder why. They still get all their money whether there are two or ten people.

I second Simba's Mom suggestion about booking a cruise and trying to find others to go with you. If you can't afford it and don't get anyone else, you can always cancel before hand. You won't be charged if you cancel far enough in advance. (At least that's how it worked when we went)

You can also continue to find a cruise already planned for your time and cancel if you do.

I have done the cruise twice now and really enjoyed it!
