We have a pretty big group - 11 (6 adults, 5 kids). The kids are pretty young (ages 10 months, 2,3,4 & 5). Do you think they would enjoy the illuminations cruise?

We shared the cruise with another family I knew from work. They had three children and we had two. We were also a party of eleven. I think the kids would have liked it, except it was pouring down rain that night. Our kids were older than yours (ages 8 through 12). However, the really nice part of the cruise with young children is that you are "doing something" before Illuminations rather than sitting and just waiting on the side walk. They take you for a ride over by MGM and back by the Beach Club and Boardwalk. We would do it again if I could be sure we would get a night with nice weather! These are hard to book so start calling first thing in the morning on the day you can make the reservation.

My girls loved it. That has been one of their most favorite things, in 4 trips.

Our captain was great. She let my girls drive the boat, a bit, and joked around a lot.
I would love to go again. We shared w/ someone here on the DIS, and it worked out wonderfully

Good luck

My 6 year old nephew loved our Illuminations cruise. He actually said, "This was the greatest day of my life" afterwards. Granted, he was very young but he loved it.

There was a thread a while back that suggested small children should not go on the Illuminations Cruises, but I think that is just crazy. We happen to own a pontoon and all of our kids are familiar with and love boating, but either way I think kids love this. I also like what another poster said about it keeping the kids from just sitting on the sidewalk for an hour waiting on something to happen. The boats are very child-friendly in that they are large and allow room to walk around once the boat has parked. The kids can safely toddle from one parent to another (they will be wearing life jackets so make sure your little ones are ok with that and not refuse and fuss about that) and have a reasonable amount of freedom. Have fun!
