Illuminations Cruise Central--DECEMBER

Are people getting ressies for cruises? Is Mousefest diverting that much? Is anyone getting anything?

I have a fireworks cruise at the Grand Floridian for Thursday12/02/04. They were not sure of the time of "Wishes" yet but they said they will give me a boat for whatever time it will be shown (either 8 pm or 10 pm) I am willing to share so please let me know if anyone would like to join us. I prefer a boat with older kids or no kids. There will be four older adults (50's& 60s) but we're not old foggies.

Hi everyone, I just got an e-mail from my concierge pre-planner. I was trying for an Illuminations cruise during our stay, 12/10-12/13. She just informed me that the pontoon boats were down for rehab during this time. Has anyone else heard this??

Our last night is the 9th, which I was unable to book (as well as the preceeding week), but was just told it was all booked up (at 7:01am).

Out of interest, does staying on a concierge floor let you book before the phones open to the public? If that is the case, then I guess I might as well give up trying to book them in the future.

We were able to get one on the 7th...which is before mousefest starts at WDW...so that my be why we were lucky...

We would like to share your illuminations or wishes cruise.

December 19th, 20th, 21st or 22nd.

Family of three myself, DH and DD age 7 (almost 8).

Still looking for people to join us.

Joy-Dog, I would LOVE to join you, but I would be only one day too late ! I arrive WDW on the 3rd.

( I'm solo, age 51 )

I hope you have a great time!

Looks like I may have been mis-informed about the pontoon boats being in rehab. I called myself and I'm able to get a cruise during the day on December 10th  . I'm going to try again tomorrow and see what they say then.

DisZip, I don't think that concierge gets to the phone any earlier. In fact, she told me that she couldn't try for the reservation until 90 days out, just like everyone else. It just an added service that saves me from having an early alarm to make the call myself. Don't give up on it.

Tammi,

This is incorrect info, the pontoon boats never go down for rehab since they are leased and only used for about 2 years and then new boats are leased. Of course they are repaired, but not rehabbed. She must have been thinking about Breathless, which is owned by Disney and is rehabbed every early December.

I just called and there are no boats for the 3rd. I thought I would just change dates but alas that couldn't happen. I still have a Magic Kingdom boat for the 2nd of December that needs participants.

Anyone get anything for IllumaNation cruises? I'm looking for these dates:
Dec. 4th...Dec. 5th...Dec. 6th...Dec. 7th...Dec. 8th...Dec. 9th....
and Dec. 10 (celebrating a big birthday) That's it!

If anyone has anything that they might be cancelling...PLEASE contact me! Thanks in advance!

I might be interested in sharing a boat for illuminations for one night December 19-23. If anyone is interested, please let me know by reply or pm. There are going to be three of us, me, my DD (6) and DS (12) Thanks!!!:Pinkbounc :bounce: :Pinkbounc :bounce: :Pinkbounc :bounce:

In addition to Breathless being rehab'ed, my concierge told me that the marina (not the pontoons) is being rehab'ed starting Dec 9. They hope to be done around the 14th. So that is what is causing some booking problems for the boats during those dates.

I was at Bayside Marina last night and I spoke to "Cap't Ron" about this. He said he has never heard of such a thing and there is no way the cruises on the pontoons would be canceled. He also said that they had just repainted the exterior of the Marina along with the current rehab of the Yacht Club exterior. he does not know what the concierge could be thinking.
He also mentioned that the Mousefest usually books all of the pontoons the early week in December. For more info on the Mousefest check here:

Mike S, something is smelling really fishy about this. If the Mousefest group got all the pontoon boats fair and square, then I don't have a gripe. Even though I think it's a bit much that WDW would let them commandeer all the boats for that entire weekend. What I don't like is what's appearing to be more and more like a coverup on Disney's part. It's become a sort of obsession at this point  but I really would like to get to the bottom of it.

Tammi,

Oh no, there is absolutely no special treatment extended to the group, they call 90 day in advance just like everybody else, its just that they all coordinate their efforts, and they put 10 guests on each boat they reserve.
