Anyone looking to share an Illuminations Cruise during <b>December</b>? If you have reserved an Illuminations Cruise and are willing to share, please post your date here. Perhaps we can coordinate this and help each other out.

When you post your reply, use the subject box to tell whether you <b>need</b> space (and how many you need) on a cruise or if you <b>have</b> space available and <b>include the dates</b>. I think that might make it a little easier to coordinate a match.

Even with the new changes, you can still get an Illuminations Cruise

There have been some changes made in the Illuminations Cruises. First, they are no longer called Illuminations Cruises, all of the fireworks cruises at WDW are known as "Specialty Cruises" because they cannot guarantee that you will see Illuminations.

There are also daytime "Specialty" cruises. They are booked at two hour intervals beginning at 12 noon. In order to have a chance to see Illuminations, you will need to call 407-WDW-PLAY 90 days in advance and request the 8:00 PM cruise, telling them that you hope to see Illuminations (or the Magic Kingdom fireworks). They will then schedule your cruise for 1/2 hour prior to the beginning of Illuminations.

Why can't they guarantee that you will see Illuminations? These cruises last 45 minutes, only. If, for some reason, Illuminations is delayed, your boat will still return to the marina when 45 minutes have passed, whether or not Illuminations has finished.

OOH, OOH, I want to be the first to reply!

We will be there December 13-23. There will be 6 of us. I am going to try for every day that we will be there. If we happen to get a cruise, the open spaces are available.

If like last time, 2 years ago, I fail and only get the busy signal, then I am putting out first dibs for anyone who has room for 6!

It was a wonderful experience when we shared a cruise last time (thanks again CarolMN!). We decide to do the cruise again because this time my daughters boyfriend (future son-in-law?) is going with us. He has never done Disney "right", so we need to show him just how cool it can be.

Oh Boy! I am going to try for a cruise starting December 4th -6th-7th-8th and 10th! I have five in the family so it may get crowded. I have to start calling at 4:00 am so keep your fingers crossed! Helen

Does anyone know how they work the specialty cruises on NYE? We will be arriving on NYE and were wondering if the 8PM cruise would be the last one for the night or would there be one around midnight? Inquiring minds want to know.

We had a great captain on our last cruise and he said the NYE cruises are incredible. He said that you basically get two firework shows and food. He didn't mention the price and since we're not going then I didn't get all the details. I did make a mental note that I would want to do this if we're ever there NYE. I'd call and check it out, it sounded great.

I was lucky enough to score a reservation for two families for the Illuminations Cruise in early December!! I followed the instructions listed on this site to the letter, and began calling at 6:57am EST. I tried twice before actually reaching a live person. Good luck all!!! It CAN be done!!

I started ringing up at 6:55 am and only at 6:59 am did I get through for Dec.3. and I was already too late for that date. It was not til 7:04 am did the phone get answered by CM for me. I'll try again but in the meantime, I would love to share with anyone else who gets lucky enough to book a boat and wants to share. I would love to do more then one night, if possible. I just can't get enough.

Our dates are from Dec. 1 thru Dec. 19. We are booked with MVMCP on Dec. 9 and 11; so, those dates are out. I will try everyday and I'll be more then happy to share if I'm successful.

I've been lucky in the last two trips to secure one; so, I hope more days of trying will make me sucessful. Good luck to all. I think we are all getting smarter about this process; so, it's getting more difficult to get one.

I guess I'll get up another morning early, tomorrow. I tried from 6:55 am again but I didn't get the place open til 6:59am and I was already in the waiting que. I was answered by 7:02 am which was better then yesterday's time but with the same results all Illumination cruises were already booked.

It seems the key is to get answered by 6:57am as the other post stated they were successful in getting a cruise that way. I can't control the phone lines and I'm not sure how that all works, anyway. All, I can do is hope for the next day. I'm persistent.

Again, anyone lucky enough to get an Illumination cruise between Dec. 1 thru Dec. 19 (excluding Dec. 9 and Dec. 11 - MVMCP) and willing to share we are a party of two adults and we love all children. Thanks in advance. I can be PM'd here or I'll contact you if you leave a post, etc.

Hey Bete, don't feel like you are all alone on this one! I had to be up and on the phone by 4:00 A.M to try and get a cruise....NO LUCK! I really have a hard time doing this as I don't get home from work until 12:00 midnight and have to get the kids up for school at 6:30! I may just give up trying....we got a really good view of Illuminations a couple of years ago by standing on the bridge by Norway (I think) I guess my only chance for a cruise is for trying to get on with someone else who has room!
