I'm not quite sure where to post this--so here goes:

We are booked for an Illuminations Cruise on 11/18 as part of our platinum package. It is myself, DH, DD (8.5) and DD (2.5). Does anyone have any experience on how little ones react to the show? Wasn't sure what to expect and thought someone could share some "been there, done that" words of wisdom.

Thanks!!

I just took my 5 year olds two weeks ago tonight actually. They loved every second of the cruise itself and Illuminations. They sat and watched the show, adding in their own sound effects of course and absolutely loved when planet Earth opened. Not sure exactly what you are looking for but we had a great time and no issues at all with the children. They wore their life vests and sat as requested when the boat was moving without any issues.

On our boat, we had our two kids, and one other child....she was probably 6-7. my son is 5 and daughter is 2.

My son loved it...my daughter liked the boat ride, but not necessarily the loud noises from the fireworks...but she didnt cause too much of a fuss.

My 3 1/2 year old has been on five Illuminations cruises (at 12 months, 18 months, 26 months, 32 months, and 40 months) and LOVED them all. Of course, Illuminations happens to be one of his very favorite things at Disney. He's never been afriad of fireworks or anything like that. If yours tends to be timid or bothered by loud noises, it might be a bit much. You are VERY close to the action.

My family did the cruise with my nieces and nephews, they were ages 1, 2, 3 & 9 and none of them had a problem with it. They all seemed to enjoy it. We also did Wishes when they were 2, 3, 4 & 10 and they really loved it, that was also for my nieces 3rd birthday, so they had a giant cake, soda and had a birthday banner and balloons on the boat. It was really cute.

Thanks for all the great feedback! My 2.5 year old is a little firecracker herself, so I don't think the noise will be an issue--sometimes she thinks she is as old as her sister!

She might be bothered by the life vest but maybe I'll put one on her here to get use to is..........are they just standard issue, boat life vests (the orange ones?)

Thanks again....we cannot wait for this trip!!!!

They're a little nicer than the standard orange ones.

They are actually a like a "ski-vest" with no large neck roll. So they are more comfy than a standard orange lifejacket.

My two didn't have any trouble with the life jackets. They were more like this than orange ones.

You are moored under the bridge with other boats, I don't think the kids would be scared.
