Hey out there, has anyone been on the Illuminations Cruise? can you tell me how it was? How long ahead of time can you make reservations? Is it worth the Money?

We have done two. By far, we feel it is one of the best spots to view Illuminations. Also, you don't have to walk a long way to get out of Epcot from the World Showcase after Illuminations.

We made the reservations 60 days prior to the day we wanted to go. There are not a lot of pontoon boats, so you need to call early. We got one that held our party of 12 and it cost $125 not counting the tip. Worth the money? Depends on each group that goes, I guess. For me, probably not with our one family of five, but since we had three families together vacationing, the price divided by three was not bad at all. (This was a bargain, though. We paid $220 for a birthday Illuminations cruise for DD in 2001.)

Call 1-407-WDW-PLAY to make the reservation.

I think it is one of the most amazing things Disney offers. If you go to the "Cruise share post" it generally runs about $14-$17 per person. I would be willing to pay double that easily. We have shared boats with fellower DISers twice and I loved it.

We are going on 08/14 Birthday Illumination cruise. Can't wait!! We are celabrating my two DD Bday, DH Bday, my Dad's 60th Bday and my parents 40th wedding aniversary (yes all of this does take place the same week). I am so excited because the kids do not know about the cruise (it's so hard to keep it from them!!). My question is how much should we tip the person on the boat?? Because it is a Bday cruise and they do a little extra?? The cost of the cruise is $220.00. If anyone can please give me their opinion, I would greatly appriciate it.

You will have a great time with the birthday cruise. People on the other pontoon boats sang Happy Birthday to my DD and then people on the bridge in the World Showcase also wished DD Happy Birthday with waves and "Happy Birthdays". I believe we tipped $40.00 for that evening. I figured roughly 15%, but I did it in my head, so we were a tad over. I did not really know, honestly and just went by how we tip at the restaraunts. I think we tipped $25 on our trip in June but that was not a birthday cruise.

Great thanks for the reply. That is the amount I was thinking of too.
