Illuminations Boat Cruise Question

There is some issue as to the amount of guest allowed on the "10-person" pontoon boat that cruises to epcot to view the fireworks. I have read on several blogs (although some posts are several years old) that the boat holds 10 people or 12 if some of them are children. The lady at disney told me 10 only; doesn't matter if they are kids or not. Does anybody have any recent experience with this? i'm thinking if i show up for the cruise with a party of 11and 4 of them are kids, will they let me on the boat? thanks very much for any input.
