can you tell me what the birthday illuminations cruise is? how much is it and how do I get information on it? thank you

WDW has 6 pontoon boats that they rent out for Illumination, Birthday and Special Event Cruises. They decorate the boat, have a yummy cake, snacks and cold drinks. You get primo seating for the fireworks! And these cruises are amazingly difficult to get! You must call 90 days in advance....I think....not for certain..it might be 60! These cruises are called speciality cruises & are wonderfully fun! You can call 407-WDW-PLAY to book one or just get more information. They can tailor it to suit your own needs! Good Luck!

Illuminations Birthday Cruise is a special pontoon, only 1 of five, that has HB banners tied to the sides and accomodates 12 guests. I've read that it is the hardest ressie to book in WDW since there is only one cruise each night and only on 1 boat. I've booked it in June for DH and had no trouble booking (it was much easier than Cindy's) but I did get up and call exactly at the time they opened. There is a spot on DIS boards that lists the info as follows:

Birthday Illuminations Cruise is held on a pontoon boat for up to 12 people. The boat is decorated with streamers and balloons, and they include a cake, party favors and cold beverages (non alcoholic). You take a cruise around Crescent Lake, then into Epcot for Illuminations. The cost is $175 plus tax (up to 7 guests), or $230 plus tax (8-12 guests).

They require a credit card number but do not charge unless you fail to cancel within the time limit or after you take the cruise. You get to choose the cake flavor, filling and the writing on top so it is somewhat personalized.

thank you for all the information. sounds perfect for my husband's birthday celebration, while we are in disney.

I just called the other day and was able to get resies for 7-21 for the Illuminations Birthday Cruise. I was told the price was $220 it did not matter on the amount of people, was I misinformed?

I'm not sure if they quoted me $220 or 230 and the price info I gave above was from the DIS info posted. I do know that the max per boat is 12 and that the tip for the captain of the boat is not included in the price. Enjoy!
