Illuminations and Tutto Italia

So illuminations is at 9,and at have a 915 @ Tutto Italia.

I haven't been to epcot in probably 20 years. I believe I read that illuminations is over the water. In that case, can we see the show from outside the restaurant and then go in for our reservation?

Tutto Italia and Via Napoli are both set back from the main pathway around the World Showcase. Illuminations is in the lagoon, and while you can see many of the fireworks from all over the park, to truly see the show, you need to be fairly close to the water. Since your reservation time is 9:15pm, I would watch closer to the water near the pathway that leads to the restaurant. You will need to be careful to not be late, so you may miss the ending. Doable? Yes. Perfectly doable? Hard to say.

This is view from restaurant to the lagoon and you can see it is fairly obstructed.
You will be able to see the fireworks in the sky but not much of anything else.
