I was thinking of doing a fireworks cruise on my Oct trip but wondering if this is a good thing to do with 3 small children ages 6, almost 5, almost 3? A coworker and her DH and 2 kids (6 & 8) will be at WL so I thinking of inviting her along.

I was thinking of Illuminations since we are staying at the Poly and can easily watch Wishes from there. BUT....is it a pain to get back to the Poly after an Illuminations cruise without a car? We'd have to get into Epcot and walk over to the monorail.....

Thanks for sharing your experiences!

I think the Illuminations cruise is far better. It is fun for the kids too!

Couple of thoughts...
1) it is MUCH colder than you would think on the boat at night. (We went for the 3rd time in April - shorts and t's all the time but sweatshirts and blankets on the boat) They will supply a few blankets but there is nothing worse than being cold

2) with children that age, limit the drinks before hand and make the bathroom the last thing you do before boarding (you can bring food and drinks on board)

3) Take a cab from BW to Poly for about $10, it's worth it that time of night

Enjoy

I agree, do the Illuminations cruise! My 6 and 7 yr olds loved it soooo much that they are still talking about it months later. Our only problem is that it's going to be hard to watch fireworks any other way! ;)

We did a Wishes! cruise in May with a 5 year old and 10 month old. We were also allowed to bring the stroller on board. It was lots of fun and definitely recommend it.

Can we do that with 3 kids and no carseats? I was thinking of contacting FL Tours to see what they might charge.

I called the recreation line to confirm some info about the Illumnations Cruise this week and was told that you can not bring your own food and drink on board - an earlier post said you could - might want to check if that's your plan . . .

I did the Illuminations Cruise last October. We took the bus from the YC to MK and then walked to the CR. You need to check to see if the MK is open til 10 the night you plan to go, but if they are then it works out fine.
