Did anybody use this method to book the cruise?

Since these cruises are so much in demand, start calling about 6:55 am est. If you get a recording that they are not open yet, disconnect and immediately hit redial. If you get the recording thanking you for calling hit #3 right away, as soon as the second recording begins press #2, when the third recording begins press either your reservation number or phone number and finish with the pound sign. Then press #1, then #2. This will take you to a reservationist, if you have to hold do not disconnect or you go to the bottom of the queue.

When the reservationist answers do not make small talk, immediately tell him/her that you want to reserve the 8PM specialty cruise for such and such date.Do not ask to reserve an Illuminations cruise or you will waste time hearing that there is no such thing.

I want to book one and was wondering if this tip still works?

I used the steps listed in the sticky at the top of this section. I think it's the same one. One word of warning, I never got the "thanks for calling" part of the recording... it was a recording about golf or something, so I didn't push the number right away. I did get through and I did get a boat, though. It may have been to my advantage that I called on Easter Sunday...maybe fewer people tried to get through that day...
I did mention that I wanted to see Illuminations when I called and they seemed to be very accustomed to people asking for that. Good luck! It was an awesome way to see an awesome show!!

You do have to go through a quick routine like that, yes. I would call beforehand though and make sure that is the right sequence. Most often, I keep hitting 0. Good luck.

That's a good idea, I'll try it first to see if I get through.. thank's guys!

I booked an Illuminations cruise in July for October. I used the method you posted but just a side note, I can't remember whether I first entered my phone number or reservation number when that time came but whichever it was after I entered it I thought I could keep moving in the progression but I was wrong. They then asked me for the other number. I thought for sure that would cost me the cruise but it didn't. I was able to secure one without a problem at all.

I used that method, including "practicing" beforehand to make sure I would get through. I can program "pauses" in my presets in my phone, so I programmed the whole sequence into one of the presets. That worked like a charm; I didn't even have to listen for the prompts. I even got the Breathless, which is difficult since there is only one. If you want to read my review of our Breathless cruise, it is in my TR on Day 2. It was amazing, worth every penny!
