ILL VQ and DAS

Upcoming summer trip, I know it all might be different then, but if not...
I understand for my granddaughter to use her DAS for the VQ rides, Tron and Guardians, currently, we need a spot in the Virtual Queue, since that is effectively the standy line, although we would be directed to LL at the ride when we show up. Otherwise need to purchase an ILL.
Some questions, one thing that makes the DAS helpful is once you are given a time, its anytime after that. So if we need a sensory break, it's not a big deal. So if you have a DAS, AND a Boarding Group, do you HAVE to go right away when called, or is it like having a regular return time? Any give at all on the ILL return time with a DAS? ( since the VQ spots seem to be gone in seconds)

Any both VQ and ILL purchases are 7 am for on site? Can you be logged into SAME account on 2 different devices to try to snag one or the other? It's only going to be me and my granddaughter who doesn't have her own account. I quess having 2 VQ might make Guardians spots last quicker, if people are going for Tron first.

It’s my understanding is guests can arrive “late” once the boarding group is called — some reports on TPAS of several hours later.

Yes and yes.

Yes and yes.
I’ve read that too. Obviously, in order to manage the lines, things move along better if the majority of people come soon after their boarding group is called. I’m sure a small enough number come late that it‘s not much of an issue.
When you come to the attraction using DAS, you will be checking in with the CM near the Lightning Lane. If you are late and there is any question, they should accommodate lateness due to disability

From my personal experience we've never had any issues turning up late for our Cosmic Rewind boarding group. One thing I will say is though, make sure you go to the CM holding an iPad off to the side of the LL entrance before entering the LL as they'll be the one to convert your VQ boarding group into a LL. We didn't know we were supposed to do that first time and just got straight into the LL and had to be redirected when we tapped in and it didn't work.

This is exactly what we did last week. Go to the iPad slinging CM and let them know you have DAS and VQ. Works very well. We had boarding group 6 for the day, and didn't show up for Cosmic Rewind until about 1pm.

I just read an article today (I forget where tho) saying cast members have been told the VQ for tron is a strict 1 hour. They claim this will still be policy when soft open phases into the real opening, and they're being told to turn people away that are coming in too late past their assigned window. DAS adds another factor to this tho. Will DAS be required to abide by the VQ rules also?

Yes, strict enforcement of the boarding group has been reported on the TPAS forum as well as other places this week during the soft opening. Likely because WDW doesn't want everyone waiting to ride at night (supposedly a better experience at night). Sometimes BGs are called even a couple of hours earlier than the estimated time. So it is strongly advised to get to the park quickly after obtaining a VQ and keep an eye on your BG.

As to how that will work with DAS -- good question. Since you can't actually obtain a DAS for Tron until you arrive for the BG I don't know if they would accept a late arrival. My gut says probably not, at least not at first. If late by a few minutes, you may be able to argue your case (though reports are they are very strict right now).

I would hope the same VQ/ILL rules apply for DAS as for those not using it. It wouldn’t be fair to allow DAS users to wait and ride at night when as a non-DAS user I have to take a chance at the VQ lottery (hoping I get a late enough group) or purchase an ILL for nighttime (and probably have to stay in a Disney resort for it as well since it’s likely the nighttime ILLs will be gone at park open for offsite guests).

I wouldn't listen to any blogger/vlogger/media person because they are well known enough to CMs they might get a pass on the time so they get good reviews. Best to stay tuned to see what average guests are experiencing in real life to know what you will experience.

I agree with @lanejudy that the nighttime factor is going to play hard on this ride. You are literally talking about night and day in experiences, and the system can't handle people all holding out until dark. They are going to need to figure this out because I can see most all the $ILL$ holding out until dark. They might have to be firm in what they allow.

With GotG the light turns green right away until 1 hour after your return time expires. If you are called at 9:15 am on GotG it will show expired on the app at 10:15am and the light should turn green without an override until 11:15am unless they’ve changed it. Of course if it turns blue after that they have been still waving you through.

I was thinking they might allow a little bit of leeway over the one hour for someone using DAS if they had an issue related to their disability that made them late.
For example, I need to use the Companion Restroom for my daughter. There is sometimes a long wait for that, which made us a bit late in the past for something with a 1 hour window.
I agree it would not be fair to be non-expiring for DAS.
For tron they are doing a one hour late window according to the Tim tracker
I just read several posts on a Facebook group where people who have DAS arrived after their Boarding Group time, went to a CM to board with DAS and were not allowed to ride. One was just an hour late and the other didn’t say.
Both said they were told that because many guests want to ride at night, this attraction will be strict about Boarding Group times

Whichever way it ends up (which so far sounds strictly enforced), I hope they are at least consistent. It lets people know what to expect and makes it easier on the cast members.
