I'll Murder you in your Resturant!!!!

I want to relate our very positive experience there.

I am hoping that you caught Al and "Genesis" on a bad day. That was even worse than The Sad Little Crabcake!

We drove up Friday July 25th for two nights at the Yacht Club. My gf made ADRs for everywhere we planned to eat. Saturday night we wanted to go to the Clam Bake.

Unfortunately we spent too much time at Germany for lunch, so wanted something a little lighter. My gf had no problem getting it changed.

So Saturday night we show up, wait not even three minutes, and are shown to our table. I forgot the server's name, but he was polite and attentive, a bit too enthusiastic but that was okay.

I had the spinach appetizer which was as good as described in the podcast, and the grilled salmon which was wonderful. My gf had the pork chops and loved them. I don't remember any apple peels.

We left there also stuffed, and satisfied with everything.

The next morning we decided to have breakfast there before hitting the parks before driving back down to Fort Lauderdale. No ADR, only waited three minutes if that much! Think we had the buffet. I asked for hot sauce, which was brought immediately.

I should mention that the whole weekend we were up at the World, there were management types all over, and people with hand-held devices clocking everything. We even were interviewed twice, once after we checked out of the Yacht Club, and once right before leaving the Studios.

When we do drive up again, we will eat here without hesitation. I hope you guys give it another chance à la your re-review of O`Hana's.

I am AGAPE and AGHAST! :scared1:

I really didn't see myself ever heading to the Yacht Club to eat at this restaurant, but I will now never consider it! I know Kevin always says we should go and try for ourselves and his is only an opinion, but this time Kevin, I am standing in solidarity and will never eat there on principle. I have never heard of such audacity and horrible customer service.

I hope you take this to the appropriate levels within Disney Guest Services.

OH MY GOD! That is horrible. I had this on our list of places to try and I couldn't cross it off fast enough! I am so sad, the food on the food porn thread looked so good- but it is not worth the risk of having such bad service. What a nightmare.

One of the things we noticed was how attentive and 'on the ball' the other servers seemed to be. We even commented that the gentleman serving the large party next to us was really good with them.

Except for the Salmon we had some similar items - and they were good.

It's just difficult to enjoy your meal under such bad and totally unwarranted circumstances.

I'm downloading the podcast right now. Sounds like I'm in for a shocker :scared1:

I'm glad some people are having great experiences at this restaurant, but the fact that this has happened, and could happen again to anyone, will keep me far, far away. Everyone has bad days, but this shouldn't happen on the worst of days at Disney World.

The food could be out of this world great but because of how the manager acted leaves me never wanting to step foot in that restaurant. He's the one in charge and he treated customers like this? I hope you do report this guy. Bob/AL needs to be reassigned to toilet patrol.

I'd love to hear Mrs. Ann on the podcast giving her opinions and tips for the young at heart crowd.

Ok, Im listening to the AP review now as I read this. I'm about ready to forward through to hear about CG. I don't know if I can wait after reading this thread.

We are planning on breakfast there in December....Im already having second thoughts.

This man should not be working for the Disney company. I sincerely hope a letter is written/phone call is made and this man is investigated by upper management. :scared1:

I feel really bad for thinking this, and I'm shocked by your experience Kevin, but for sheer entertainment value I always hope the restaurants reviewed give cause for a rant, as i don't think there's anything funnier than Kevin's opinions of bad experiences :lmao:

Does this make me a bad person? :)

:goodvibes

I love how it was described when Kevin's mom handled the problem.

I almost picture her as this mafia/mob character.. pulling the manager in the corner.. looking him straight in the eye and talking in a low voice....

settle down now!

Doesn't surprise me - Genesis has been going down hill since "Invisible Touch"

:rotfl:

Sorry couldn't resist.

This is EXACTLY what I was thinking!!

I finally listened to Kevin's review. I don't know what to say. Having worked both front and back of the house, there is absolutely no excuse for poor and impolite service. A letter to the YC Mgt is most certainly called for.

If it were me, there would have been two knives missing. They would have been stuck in the backs of Al and Genesis.

Kevin, tell you Mom the lady from the restroom has a tremendous amount of respect for her. Miss Ann dressing down a grown man! You go girl!

Oh. My. God.

If I had been in that situation, the manager would have received a swift kick to the crotch and a drink poured on his head. I cannot believe that a MANAGER of a DISNEY RESTAURANT treated a guest like this! :headache:

I have to admit that I would have waited for everyone to finishe their dinners and then gone to the hotel manager and complain not only about the treatment but also that they had a server who didn't seem to know his menu. and thank you for the review kevin, I will make sure and avoid captains grille. I have to admit I love your reviews and take them to heart when planning my trips. keep up the good work

I think the experience Ken, John, and Ann had at the Captin's Grill is totally unexceptible!!
I think you all deserve a great deal of credit for how you handled it.
My husband and I had a very unfortunate meal at Fulton's, several years ago. We tried to handle it with the server--but he was not too responsive. We complained to the manager---and he seemed to think we were nuts. My husband paid the bill and we just left. We had no idea how to "make something happen"
When we came home I sent a letter to the resturant. I told them about the cold food, that one of our items actually smelled AWFUL!
About 3 weeks later we got a form letter THANKING us for eating at their resturant and inviting us to be their guest for "a drink" during our next visit.
I think I was more angry with the letter than with the food!
How do you handle this kind of situation? I have a health condition that limits my voice......I couldn't "yell" if I tried.-----but I don't think that that's the answer. How have others handled this?
