So, a while ago I received a PIN for %off resort rooms.

Here's the thing, the PIN says nothing about it being just for me...

Is their a reason I can't share the PIN I received, because if not I will just post it here as it seems some people are having trouble getting them.

If it is truly a pin, not a public code, Disney will not allow anyone else to use it. That number is tied to your name and unless the person who received the email is booked in the reservation, it can't be used.:sad2:

It was worth a shot, but Disney doesn't let us share.:confused3

Save 20%* at Disney Value Resorts
Save 30%* at Disney Moderate Resorts
Save 40%* at Disney Deluxe Resorts

For stays most nights 2/15–3/27/10,
4/11–7/1/10, 7/5–10/7/10,
10/11–11/23/10 and 11/28–12/16/10.

That is what it says... I don't know if it's a PIN or a public code though. It's a 15 digit number if that helps.

Since it has the 15 digit number, it is a pin. Public codes are usually letters. Thanks for the offer, I'm sure lots of people would love to take it off your hands, if Disney would let us.:confused:You would think they would allow it--more rooms booked, but what can you do:confused3

That was definitely considerate of you. But yes, as someone stated, that one is a PIN that's going around. Any time you see a string of numbers, it is attached to you specifically and cannot be shared. Public codes are typically only 3 letters long and will be easily found on the Disney World site's special offers and on sites that track public offers. But the offer was appreciated! :)

If you knew the name and email address of the original PIN recipient, I'd bet you could get them to take it. I'm pretty darn sure that I could, anyway.

Afraid not! My 76 y/o mom got a pin last year for several dates in 2009. She lives with me. I called multiple times trying to use it. The only times she has ever even gone to WDW is as a guest in my room. I was told repeatedly that it was her PIN, not mine and I could not use it unless she was staying in the room with me.

She got another PIN last week for free counterservice through mid August. My current AP discount beat it, but just out of curiosity I called three times the other day, just to see if I could use it and all three times was again told no, that it was her PIN, not mine.

As an AP holder, I go to WDW several times a year and have never received a PIN, but my mom who only goes about once a year and only as a guest in my room, has received two pins in the last year.

So tell them she's a guest in the room, but she doesn't want park tickets or meals...she's a huge Harry Potter fan. :)

That's not going to work. Quoted from Disney:
Everyone on the same reservation must be on the same package and purchase the same ticket options.

Also, if you have more than two adults in the room and you plan on saying there's an additional adult, you could have an additional adult fee. My party of four adults are all sharing a room in September. We're paying approximately $15/night for each of the extra two.

Bottom line...if the PIN is not actually attached to you or someone actually on your reservation, you cannot use it.

Actually there is a work around to everyone being on the same plan, but I don't want to give people the idea there is a way to 'cheat' the system. If you have someone in the household that is disabled, for example, and part of the package wouldn't apply - they don't have to be on the plan (like dining for example). But if grandma was going, and not going to the parks - you could get her in the room w/o park passes based on medical need.

Yep. I'm not saying it would be ethical, but there's always a way to work the system.

I see that you are new so you might not know that the moderators don't take kindly to people talking about "working the system". That would be very unDisneylike :sad2:.

Not sure why you zeroed in on me, as I'm not the one who gave detailed instructions on how to do so.

Strange:confused: When I called to check and see if I had a PIN connected with my name the CM said she even checked the other people (my brother and sister in laws) who went with us 5 years ago, she said they did not have a PIN connected to their names. I asked if they did could I use it, she said yes since they had been booked with us. Again, I think it goes back to the CM you talk too. :confused3 (JMHO)

Please do not share any PIN codes on the DIS.

This is exactly SPECIFICALLY covered in the posting guidelines

Please take a moment and read the section related to discount offers and sharing PINs. It's not allowed and will result on the post being deleted and possibly a posting infraction being earned.

And nobody wants that.

Thanks,

Knox

Oh, I'm sorry, I'm still a bit new the whole DW thing. I was just trying to help and get everyone a bit happier.

It won't happen again.
