I had no idea it was called "Sha Boom." My spouse loves when CarsLand lights up. I think it is overcrowded and underwhelming. I think the same thing about when they flip the switch and turn on the lights for Small World Holiday. I agree, that it would be better if it were darker, but that kind of defeats the purpose of turning on the lights at sunset.

I really enjoy walking around CarsLand just before the park closes. There aren't many people and the the neon looks great against a dark sky.

That's what visitors have taken to call it because that's the song that plays. AFAIK it isn't on Disney's entertainment schedule so I don't know whether internally they call it anything other than "Cars Land lighting."

(BTW, I have a theory about why Cars Land is spelled differently from the other areas of DLR. I'm pretty sure it's because they want to keep the franchise name "Cars" separate from other words for legal purposes. Using "Carsland" or "CarsLand" would work against that goal. They have registered trademarks on Cars Land.)
