Il Pochi il Fiero y Blabbermouths...Magical Reunion FINALLY!!!

I thought the Magicale was the opposite - a bit darker and heavier than Rosa Regale. They are very similar, almost a rebottle.

We have been back since last weekend, still recovering. It was hot, but very very fun. I think Kevin will be going to F&W with me every year now. It gives him fodder to make fun of me all year! I had a little too much fun at PFTS, partly because we barely made it and I was a nervous wreck. And Banfi was one of the stations.

We really enjoyed our dinner at the new La Hacienda. Good food and really good Margaritas. It's the only place you can get a Mango Fire Margarita it seems. Needless to say, I went off my low carb diet by quite a bit, so I'm struggling to get back to it now.

We also did a Signature dinner, that was kind of weird. It was at Portabello in DTD. Let's just say the dessert was "Beeramisu" served with a glass of Porto beer. The chef added extra sugar to disguise the beer and it was pretty disgusting. Even Kevin couldn't eat it, but he did drink the beer. They were very stingy with the wine too, Jim wouldn't have liked it.

The French Regional lunch we did was yummy and generous, something we will definitely book again.

And that's my mini review of F&W!

Happy 20th to Mary & Mark! Hope you are having fun!

:wave2:Thanks for the report, Diana. Glad you had a good time. It sounded good, right up until the beeramisu. :crazy2:
How's Alicia doing? Liking her new job?

Thanks for asking, Stacey. So far, so good. She is just in her first week, though, today was her first day to actually work in the store after three days of customer service training. No negatives so far! Except that they are temporarily out of discount coupons for the employees.

I now want one of those Mac Air laptops that you don't have to take out of the bag when you go through security. But I'm down the list a ways for a discount.

This morning with a heavy heart. Do you all remember me talking about our favorite Irish band and one of the members battling cancer? Well he lost his battle yesterday. :sad1: I know he's in a better place :littleangel: and is out of pain. I also know the music will live on, but I will still miss him greatly. RIP Chuck. _____________

I use a neoprene zipper bag for my laptop, and don't take it out at xray. I just put the whole bag up there....no problems. :confused3
Or with the Mac Air do you not even have to take it out of your carry-on at all? That would be a plus.
Tell them to get those coupons!!!

Hey all! I know, I haven't been here in a coon's age! (however long that is!) ;)

Big news on the Patrick front....
(no, I'm not pregnant!)
Whew!

We're moving!
Back to Ohio!

Yup, it's totally God who is moving us. Put the desire in our hearts to return home and He's working out every last detail better than we could have anticipated it. Mike has landed a DREAM JOB at Nationwide Children's Hospital. 10 shifts a month working in their ER/Fast Track and the rest of the time getting paid to work on Pediacast!! The day Mike contacted them proposing he come up there and have a studio at the hospital, was the day they were sitting down creating a new job description that was EXACTLY what Mike was proposing! (See what I mean about God working out the details?!?)

So he flew up, interviewed, and got the job (the one they had created pretty much specifically for him!) Salary is a little less, but benefits FAR outweigh anything we have here. So by a numbers standpoint, it'll be a better job. Half-price tuition at OSU for the kids (and me if I want) is a HUGE perk!

So now we've got our house up on the market. We'll take a huge loss, I'm sure, because of the market, but that's ok. God's got all that worked out too! But if you know anyone who needs an amazing house just 5 minutes from the Magic Kingdom....send them my way!

Do I regret moving to Florida? Nope. Not one bit. I know this is where we had to be. We went through some pretty tough times down here in our family and our marriage and being down here (1000 miles away from all support) made both of us totally turn to God to get us through. Had we been in Ohio, I'm sure I'd have run away from home and not looked back. :rotfl2:

But now....now it's time to go home.

Anyway....thought I'd bop in to share the news! Hope all is well with all of you.

Karen...I saw bits and pieces on Facebook, but thanks so much for spelling it out here. I'm so happy that this is a "guided" decision and that it is working as planned for you!

So ....I know we've discussed this before, but I wasn't paying attention.
After spending way too much money buying books (our library stinks) I might want to look into a Kindle or some such.
Opinions on all of them??
Being able to make the print larger would be a good thing. Low cost downloads would be good....variety would be good. Otherwise, I'm not picky.

Frances likes her Kindle - more than she thought she would. I, however, would get an iPad (I loved the Kindle). It lets you use the Kindle app (Amazon books), iBook app(Apple books), Nook app(Barnes and Noble) - and it's a decent computer - you can surf the web - use email - etc. and it doesn;t have to come out of the case when you travel

I just bought that new mini-notebook not too long ago. I'm leaning toward the Kindle3 with built in WiFi, but not the 3G one.

Probably going to ask Santa to get it for me for Christmas.:santa:

Mary, so sorry to hear about your friend.

And Karen, was thinking about you. Glad things have worked out the way you want. And we'd love to buy your house, but I think we are stuck here.

Stacey, almost all the books on Kindle are $9.99, except for some older ones that are cheaper. Like classics, etc. We talked to a lady on the plane that had a new one, and she loves it. Holds a LOT of books, I guess. And she pointed out that most paperbacks these days are in the $10 range, so unless you are an avid library patron, it's going to cost about the same with lots less clutter. Very small and light, too, with the same size screen as before. I agree about the 3G, all it gets you is faster downloads of your books, and I can wait.

That said, I'd like an iPad! Alicia was "playing" with one at training yesterday, and she loved it. I'm sure I would too. It would be perfect, except that you can't connect to the internet at WDW, no ethernet cable plug.

She said that when she gets the envelope of discount cards, the cover will say "Here's those discounts you've been bugging us about". Apple has a sense of humor.

Mary, so very, very sorry to hear of the loss of your friend. Prayers and thoughts go out to you and to his (other) friends and family.

Remembered Joy
Don't grieve for me, for now I'm free!
I follow the plan God laid for me.
I saw His face, I heard His call,
I took His hand and left it all...
I could not stay another day,
To love, to laugh, to work or play;
Tasks left undone must stay that way.
And if my parting has left a void,
Then fill it with remembered joy.
A friendship shared, a laugh, a kiss...
Ah yes, these things I, too, shall miss.
My life's been full, I've savoured much:
Good times, good friends, a loved-one's touch.
Perhaps my time seemed all too brief—
Don't shorten yours with undue grief.
Be not burdened with tears of sorrow,
Enjoy the sunshine of the morrow.

Good morning everyone. Thanks everyone for the kind words and to Irene for that beautiful poem.

It was really a melancholy weekend. In addition to finding out about Chuck's passing we also spent the weekend purging our attic. That meant bringing lots of boxes down to look through including a number of boxes that belonged to my Mom. So I spent the weekend listening to Blarney songs while shredding a lot of my Mom's paperwork (old tax returns, checks, etc.) I also found some of her old photo albums and put up some pictures from my first cruises on Facebook.

Gosh - so much to catch up on - lots of news in a short period of time.:thumbsup2

I must have known there was still quite a connection for the Ohio Mouse Family - I mean we did ask them to change their name to the OhioFloridaMice, but nooooo....so what happens, back they go.

Seriously, Congralulations to Mike for landing his DREAM :cloud9: job. (Is there a celebration on the Dream in the works?) This is amazing. I am in awe that someone has been able to land a job description that has been crafted for what they wish to do in life. Just awesome. Congrats!!!!!!!!!:goodvibes. And a job is not all about salary as you have pointed out...Tuition at half price - oh my!!!!!

I'd think of your house as having been a fun place to rent ...I mean, that might damper the market prices a little - right? And I think you never cut the strings to Ohio...

Who says you can't go home again. I am so glad it worked out.

Besides, now you will be back in Ohio, it will be a treat to come back to WDW to visit....right?

About that DREAM cruise now......

Diane - You posted about your Food and Wine report....I (insert guilty smilie) have not yet done so, sorry about that...Maybe we can compare notes later.??

Kindle books are $9.99? Are you kidding? :scared1:

Paperbacks, even new, are less...at least I thought so...maybe I need to check the receipt more oftern??? But still, I thought that they were supposed to be cheaper on the electronic media???

I have thought about an Ipad, but you can't sit and read in the tub....or can you?

Still, I could recover space in the library but using electronic media....

Things to think about.....

Hey, maybe I can have dissers hand me downs?:dance3:
