Il Pochi il Fiero y Blabbermouths...Magical Reunion FINALLY!!!

Here's hoping the creek don't rise.

On sunday's playoff game, they announced the winners of the NFL Punt Pass and Kick and one was from Cave Creek. Miss Miller....

I need to look that up and see if she's the daughter of anyone we know. Or if Jared knows her.:thumbsup2

Jim, you are getting really good at the videos. Lisa looks great, you can tell she's getting stronger all the time. What are you and Sharon going to do with all the extra college fund money?

Grad school.

Who said Florida is warm. This Saturday 68 degrees on the first dive. I wanted to see the sharks that were milling around -- saw a few but not the crowds. I think they all moved south for the winter.:rotfl:

And they say if you do not feel like diving don't - so I called the second dive. I was tired...and the seas were going up and down.

But on the good news - we did find the Nekton pictures.

That is code for the fact the computer crashed and we are having difficulty adjusting to MAC.

Take care all.

Have a happy week.

Congrats on finding the Nekton pictures.

I guess now you don't have to repeat that trip. :sad2:

Had my follow-up colonoscopy today and things look good. He did find one polyp and it needs to go for analysis (which could take a week or more) but he doesn't expect it to be anything. Otherwise everything looks normal and I just have to go back next year for another follow-up.

Thanks to everyone for being here for me the past year.

Mary -- good news.

Sam is next - he said it was time for his follow-up.

But still cannot find the goliath groupers. Maybe that one?

I think it is time to read the tutorial on iphoto.

Hey Virgil - are you getting an ipad?
I will probably be getting an iPad.... No surprise there...

iPhoto - should have imported all of your photos and arranged them by date....

Hi Virgil - iphoto did do that, but the date on the camera was not set by the operator :scared1: So we have no clue where they have landed :scared1: and we are working with a back-up disc since the computer crashed :scared1: and we do not know when the last backup was run:scared1:

Oh well, simple problems....:goodvibes We all should be so lucky.:)

So on the ipad - can you use an ipad if you do not have a computer? I am thinking of Mother.

John is wishing for an iPad. He'll have to wish a bit longer... Irene, typing on a flat screen might be a bit frustrating over typing on a keyboard. (I'm still trying to get used to typing on the iPhone with clumsy fingers...) Other than that, it does look really cool.

Irene, here are a couple of creek pictures and the destruction that followed...these pics don't even come close to showing how bad it really was.

The water had gone down here....a lot...I think this was the day of our rescue, or the day before that.

This is what's left of the road to our house.

Jordan standing by the debris in the trees shows how high the water got.

This drainage culvert was supposed to keep floods from tearing up our road. Oops.

I'm sure some of you got some better shots, but this is my Wolf Moon picture:

Interesting article about the iPad. I've been out of the loop, so I thought I'd research.

As New York magazine notes in its roundup of coverage: "the iPad backlash is in full swing," and "it seems everyone's eager to toss a little haterade Apple's way."

From Engadget: Apple iPad: The Definitive Guide

Frankly, it does seem unclear just how many people really want (let alone need) a phone-laptop hybrid without the advantages of either.

Start with its size. It's 9.7 inches diagonally and weighs 1.5 pounds. That's light by laptop standards, but much more cumbersome than a mobile phone. But it's not a phone; you can't make calls on it unless you use an Internet service such as Skype. And you can't stick it in your pocket or take it jogging. So, like a laptop or e-reader device like the Kindle, it'll require a case. But since there's no conventional keyboard attached -- what you get is a larger version of the iPhone's onscreen interface -- it's unlikely anyone will type reports or anything of length on the device.

Then there's the lack of what have become widely accepted features.

There's no multitasking. "Are you saying I can't listen to Pandora while writing a document? I can't have my Twitter app open at the same time as my browser? I can't have AIM open at the same time as my email? Are you kidding me? This alone guarantees that I will not buy this product," Gizmodo's Adam Frucci writes.

There's also no Adobe Flash support, so the only way to watch streaming movies is on YouTube, not on Hulu or Netflix. And there are no ports to hook up other devices.

There's no camera. No GPS on the base model. It's not compatible with wide-screen movies. It only runs optimally using AT&T.

"With only one connector port and a headphone jack, the iPad is a connectivity nightmare, since you'll have to buy adapters for everything from USB to SD cards. Not to mention that you're restricted to a wireless-only connection without an Ethernet port," Geeksugar complains.

All in all, that's a lot of deficiencies for a toy that costs at least $499 and as much as $829, not including a data plan that can run an additional $360 per year.

Hi folks....lots to catch up on.

GaRRy, Shuttle Launch - The shuttle is scheduled to blast off from NASA’s Kennedy Space Center in Cape Canaveral, Fla., before dawn on Feb. 7 at 04:39 A.M. EST (0939 GMT), making it the last planned night launch of Endeavour or any other orbiter.

Now that is a Saturday night or a Friday morning depending on how you look at it....sadly, ONE of us has to work.....and it's not the hedgehog(drat!).

Stacey - Are you kidding...:scared1: That is your road:scared1: or shall I say what is left of it!!!!! At least now we know who really NEEDS 4 wheel drive, and it is not the folks that live in the city.

WOLF MOON - it was so pretty but no pictures - I saw it rise, and it was rising through a thin layer of clouds. It looked more like a fairy moon.

Monica - keyboards. I am not used to the much smaller one on the home MAC yet, much less the one on the keyboard. Could not even use the iphone button today, I press and nothing happens.

Stacey - yes, lots of negativety around the ipad. We will see what happens. Still if you did not own a laptop, and if all you wanted was to move around the net and view newspapers and books, maybe it would work out. And then again, maybe not. but heck, I do not even own a kindle so don't go by me.

Take care everyone.

Ok, Stacey, I have NOT seen those pictures before! How are you getting through there?

I am due for a phone upgrade too. But I think we can only afford one fancy phone in this family, and Kevin already has it. Will stick with my Dare until it quits working.
