Update on Flower and Garden - posted on the Wedding Cruise Thread.
This is what we were up to last weekend. If I were bold, I would let hedgie post her version....
We had a great time at the Flower and Garden Festival this year. A few highlights to put you all in the mood to visit Disney...
Animal Kingdom - great as ever. We wanted to see the baby gorilla born in Feb. but Mommy was shy and protected baby from the "noisy" guests. Next time we will need to get there extra early to have a chance. One cast member said she has only seen the baby once, so it is luck of the draw.
Yak and Yeti - always a fun place to eat. Rather than tackling the rapids, we returned to Kinadi Village for the pool, slide, savanna and spa....oh, and of a course a stop at the Tiki Bar.
Sanaa has become our favourite resturant - the bread course along is yummy and that was only day 1.
Day two - after a visit to the Shrine we arrived early at Epcot and hit soaring along with a couple and a precious 5 year old girl who was so proud she was tall enough this year to ride, and she loved it. The flowers were pretty, I enjoy seeing how the Topieary's are moved to each new year's theme. Ther was so much to see, but I expect the best was the Pixie Hallow Butterfly garden. With my new camera, I have some good shots. Dinner was at Boma and alas I was disappointed. It has become too "Americanized" for my taste, although Sam says the desserts are as good as ever. We had an unusal firework display in the form of lightening and storms. All the animals on the savannas were safely back in the barns I expect. Not like us trying to run in the rain.
Day three - back to Epcot to catch the exhibits we missed. Note to self, do not let Sam re-roof the porch the week before the cruise. Three days of hot roof work do not provide for a peppy spouse. Today was better - and it was cooler - the entire Epcot area looked so green after the rain. The crowds were down so we could ride and see trolls and other adventures. And, more time at the pool and at Sanaa for dinner. Which reminds me, I need to write my cast appreciation notes.
Day four - time to check-out. We elected to walk around Downtown Disney - I actually had shopping in mind but no success. We did something we had never done before and that was a movie - we say Alice at the DD theatre.
And soon, it was time to return home.....A good trip...and relaxing.
Perhaps I shall become ambitious enough to post some pictures later in the week.
