Il Mulino for kids

How is Il Mulino for kids? Is it as welcoming as the signature restaurants like Flying Fish or California Grill? Our kids do really well at those places...just wondering about Il Mulino. Thanks!

I live in a suburb of new york. the upscale restaurants in new york do not have childrens' menus (including il mulino, new york). that alone tells me this is different. California Grill is kind of like an upscale restaurant in other cities, except it is very kid friendly. That's why I'm asking....explicitly because I know it is different from upscale restaurants in new york.

the kids are 7 and 5.

Il Mulino has a different feel than the Disney restaurants. The lounge (which you must walk through to get to the restaurant) really feels like a bar - very adult. When we were there it was early but there were not a lot of children there - none that I remember in our section

Branch of an upscale NY restaurant or not, it is still a restaurant in Disney World! The crowd likely skews a little older than at FF or Cal Grill, but I have taken my own children there and seen other children there every time I have gone (4 or 5 different occasions). If your kids can be well behaved during a somewhat lengthy meal, you will be fine.

This will be similar to Blue Zoo in the Dolphin.
Yes you can bring kids, but it is an adult environment.
They have a kids menu, so people must bring kids, it is Disney after all.
But since it is not a DDP location and it is in a Starwood hotel you won't see as many kids as you would in the Disney upscale restaurants.

As long as your kids know how to act in an upscale location you should be fine.
That being said you never know what will happen in Disney so be prepared to take them for a walk outside the restaurant if they get crazy.
This can be an issue if they are tired and over stimulated from the parks.
It's just not fair to the other diners and I have had to do this on occasion myself.
